COLLEGE: Played in 48 games (23 starts) during his four-year career at Houston, recording 136 tackles (70 solo), 21.5 sacks (seventh-most in Houston history), 27.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and eight passes defensed. Recorded the second-most tackles for loss (12) and tied for the most sacks (8.5) despite missing five games as a senior in 2016. Was named second-team American Athletic Conference and second-team All-AAC by Phil Steele his senior season. Played shooting guard on the Houston basketball team during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. Said that his basketball background has helped with his ability to play coverage linebacker.
PERSONAL: Played at John Tyler High, where he was named the 16-4A District Defensive MVP, ETSN 4A Co-Defensive Player of the Year and AP Class 4A first-team all-state following his senior season that included 59 tackles and 24.0 sacks. Graduated with a degree in retailing & consumer science.
