Entered 2020 after originally being selected in the first round (30th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, where he spent the first three seasons of his career before being acquired via trade by the Browns and spent two seasons (2018-19) in Cleveland.
Played two seasons (2013-14) at Arizona State after spending one season at Mesa Community College. Played baseball at Butler Community College (Kan.) in 2010. Appeared in 25 games at Arizona State, totaling 177 tackles, one sack, 18 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Added six interceptions for 179 return yards and two touchdowns. As a senior in 2014, started all 13 games and totaled 106 tackles, one sack, 12 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Added three interceptions for 89 return yards and a score. Earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors against Stanford, where he recorded seven tackles, one sack, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Named to Phil Steele's All-Pac-12 First-Team, Sports Illustrated All-American honorable mention and All-Pac-12 First Team. As a redshirt junior in 2013, saw action in 12 games and registered 71 tackles, six passes defensed and two forced fumbles. Added three interceptions for 90 return yards and a touchdown. Earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Sun Devils past Arizona with 13 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown and one forced fumble.
Attended Pensacola High School. Played cornerback, free safety, wide receiver and returned punts and kickoffs. Earned all-state recognition following his senior season and all-conference recognition following his junior and senior seasons. Also participated in baseball and track and field. Brother, Patrick Norris, was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 16th round of the 2007 MLB Draft. Another brother, Porter Washington, played in the Cincinnati Reds' minor league system in 1999. Double majored in business and communications with a minor in psychology.
