NFL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
- Opened 2020 with the Bengals, starting four of six games before being traded midseason to Seattle. Started six of eight games with the Seahawks, recording 14 quarterback hits and 5.0 sacks, two of which ended opponent's comeback attempts (vs. Arizona & at Washington). In all, started 10 of 14 games, totaling 32 tackles (20 solo), 6.0 sacks, 18 quarterback hits and four passes defensed.
- A two-time Pro Bowler (2015-16), Dunlap spent his first 10-plus seasons with the Bengals, who drafted him in the second round of the 2010 draft. He has started 115 of 155 games played, recording 82.5 sacks, 490 tackles, 20 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, 60 passes defensed, and two interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns.
- Finished Bengals career ranked second in franchise sacks (82.5), one behind DE Eddie Edwards (83.5).
- His career-best 13.5 sacks in 2015 were second-most in a season in Cincinnati history, behind DE Coy Bacon's 22.0 in 1976.
- Recorded a team-high 9.0 sacks in 2019 for the Bengals, marking the fifth time in his 10 seasons he finished with at least a share of the team's sack lead (2011, 2013-15, 2019).
- His 38 passes defensed between 2016-19 were the most in the NFL among non-defensive backs, and in 2016, became the first Bengals defensive lineman to ever lead the team in passes defensed (15).
COLLEGE:
Played three seasons (2007-09) at Florida, with totals of 84 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, eight passes defensed and four blocked kicks. Entered NFL Draft following his junior season. Named Defensive MVP of 2008 season BCS national championship win over Oklahoma. Helped Gators to 13-1 records in each of his last two seasons, including 51-24 Sugar Bowl victory over University of Cincinnati to close the 2009 campaign.
PERSONAL:
Attended Fort Dorchester High, and closed career ranked 15th on ESPN's Top 150 recruits list. Was an SEC Academic All-American in 2008 and selected to the SEC Academic Honor Roll as a freshman. Actively supports children in need in both South Carolina and Greater Cincinnati, through Carlos Dunlap Foundation, with events including an annual football camp, holiday shopping trips and school supplies giveaways at the beginning of school year. Enjoys traveling and jet skiing. Was named 'Mayor for a Day' in North Charleston on March 13, 2009. Lists parents, Diane Ross and Carlos L. Dunlap Sr., as greatest source of inspiration. Was the Bengals team nominee for NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in both 2015 and 2018. Earned bachelor's degree in business administration from Florida and master's degree in business administration from Miami (Fla.).
