COLLEGE: Started 23 of 36 games played for Miami from 2013-15. Recorded 93 tackles, seven interceptions, 14 pass breakups, 2.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. As a senior in 2015, earned All-ACC second-team honors, as he led the conference with six interceptions, the most by a Hurricane since 2003 (Sean Taylor, 10).
PERSONAL: Attended Northwestern High. Totaled 72 tackles, 4.0 sacks, six pass breakups and two interceptions, in addition to returning two kickoffs for touchdowns. One of the nation's top hurdlers, earning All-USA high school track & field honors from the USA Today in 2011 and 2012. Son of Artie Tyrone Burns, Sr. and the late Dana Smith; is the legal guardian of his two younger brothers, Thomas and Jordan. He and his wife Ella, have two sons, A.J. and Saint.
