Friday Injury Report

The Seahawks will be without three players when they open the season against the 49ers, with outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (knee), receiver Dareke Young (hamstring) and receiver Jake Bobo (concussion) all ruled out.

No other player has a game status designation, meaning everyone else should be available on Sunday, including starting right guard Anthony Bradford, who missed Thursday's practice with a back injury, cornerback Riq Woolen, who sat out Thursday due to illness, receiver Cody White, who was limited the past two days with a shoulder injury, and rookie receiver Tory Horton, who is coming back from an ankle injury suffered in Seattle's second preseason game, and who practiced fully this week.

Nwosu, who opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list following offseason knee surgery, is making good progress in his comeback, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said, he just still needs more time to be game ready.

"It's hard to put a timetable on this guy, because he just keeps beating it," Macdonald said. "He's ahead of schedule, he looks great. We just need some more exposure for him before we go do it for real on Sunday. But he's doing a phenomenal job, he looks good."

Bobo, who suffered a concussion on a punt return in Seattle's preseason finale in Green Bay, was able to practice on a limited basis this week, but has not yet cleared the concussion protocol to play on Sunday.

"Hoping so," Macdonald said of Bobo possibly playing next week. "He looks good, but you've got to clear the protocol, and he's just in it right now. His spirits are positive, but we just need to hit a couple more hurdles before we clear him."

Young, meanwhile, injured his hamstring in practice this week, but the hope is that he can make it back next week.

"He just tweaked his hammy running a route," Macdonald said.

Asked if Young can make it back next week, Macdonald said, "hopefully he'll practices. We'll kind of get a better feel in the middle of next week."

For the 49ers, the most noteworthy injury status is the questionable designation for starting running back Christian McCaffrey, who did not practice Friday. McCaffrey, a two-time first-team All-Pro and three-time Pro-Bowler, was not on the injury report to start the week, then was added on Thursday as a limited participant due to a calf injury.

Additionally, the 49ers have two players listed as doubtful, running back Jordan James, who was limited throughout the week due to a finger injury, and receiver Jordan Watkins, who was limited the past two days due to an ankle injury.

Thursday Injury Report

The Seahawks added two players to their injury report on Thursday, with right guard Anthony Bradford sitting out due to a back injury, and with cornerback Riq Woolen also out due to illness. Also a non-participant Thursday was receiver Dareke Young, who was limited on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.

Receivers Jake Bobo (concussion) and Cody White (shoulder) were limited for the second straight day, as was outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (knee). Receiver Tory Horton, who is working his way back from an ankle injury sustained in Seattle's second preseason game, was a full participant for the second straight day.

For the 49ers, 17 players were listed on the injury report, but all participated either fully or in a limited capacity. The one new addition to San Francisco's injury list was running back Christian McCaffrey, who was limited with a calf injury.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks open their 50th season on Sunday with a home game against the 49ers, and they look to be heading into that game with a mostly healthy roster. The team released its first injury report of the season following Wednesday's practice, and only five players listed, and all of them participated in practice in some fashion.

Rookie receiver Tory Horton, who injured his ankle in the preseason, was a full participant and is "doing great" according to Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald. Limited were outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, who is coming back from offseason knee surgery, receiver Jake Bobo, who remains in the concussion protocol, the result of an injury suffered in Seattle's final preseason game, and receivers Cody White (shoulder) and Dareke Young (hamstring) whose injuries were not previously disclosed.

On an encouraging note, starting linebacker Tyrice Knight, who was sidelined earlier in camp due to an undisclosed medical issue, was not listed on the injury report. After receiving what Macdonald called "great news" regarding that medical issue two weeks ago, Knight was able to return to practice last week.

The 49ers list a total of 16 players on their injury report, though 10 of them were full participants. Three players, defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos, receiver Jordan Watkins and tackle Trent Wiliams did not practice, though Williams' absence was for rest. Running back Jordan James, guard Dominick Puni and receiver Jauan Jennings were all limited participants.
