National Anthem
Freddie Garza
Freddie Garza Jr., born and raised in Yakima, WA, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after the 9/11 attacks. He served at F.E. Warren AFB until 2008, then joined the Air Force Reserve, earning two Air Force Commendation Medals for deployments to Iraq and the UAE. After 20 years of service, Freddie retired and now lives in Yakima with his wife Rebecca and their sons, Diego and Mateo, while running his own government contracting business and completing a degree in Criminal Justice.
Halftime
VamoLá & Blue Thunder
Experience the fusion of sound and culture at halftime, with a special performance by Vamola, featuring Blue Thunder. VamoLá is a Seattle-based Brazilian drum and dance ensemble that brings the spirit of Carnaval to life through vibrant parades and performances. Their main focus is on Rio-style samba, but they perform a variety of other music and dance styles from all over Brazil. Founded almost 25 years ago, VamoLá is an ever-evolving group who come together to celebrate Brazilian culture through music and movement.
National Anthem ASL Interpreter
Billy Seago
A Tacoma native, Billy Seago has acted in professional productions across the U.S. and Europe. He was a co-founder and director of the Deaf Youth Drama Program at Seattle Children's Theatre (DYDP, 1993-2007). He is a nationally-renowned master storyteller, has conducted workshops in dramatics, storytelling, creative use of ASL, and Deaf Culture, and interpreting. He is joined by his wife, Jennifer Seago, as his support interpreter.
