PHOENIX—Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald met with the media on Monday at the NFL Annual Meeting, covering a number of topics ranging from his team's offseason moves to his team's Super Bowl win to the upcoming offseason workout program, which will be tweaked a bit this year given the shortened break created by a Super Bowl run.

Macdonald also gave updates on a couple of players whose 2025 seasons were cut short due to injury, receiver Tory Horton and running back Zach Charbonnet.

Horton, a fifth-round pick out of Colorado State, got off to a great start to his rookie season, catching 13 passes for 161 yards and five touchdowns through his first eight games while also excelling as a punt returner, averaging 14.9 yards per return, including a 95-yard touchdown. But his rookie campaign was cut short due to a shin injury that kept him from returning. Macdonald said Horton likely won't be at full strength to start out the offseason program this spring, but should be ready to go for training camp.

"It's just one of those things where you have to let it calm down, then be smart on how you come back," Macdonald said. "We'll have a plan for him over the course of the spring—he's probably not going to be 100 percent starting Day 1. I'm not really sure of the timetable, but we expect him back for training camp is a fair statement to make."

Charbonnet, who tore his ACL in Seattle's divisional round win over the 49ers, did not have surgery until February, making a return for the start of the season seem unlikely. But when talking about the team's plans at running back after losing Kenneth Walker III in free agency, Macdonald mentioned Charbonnet as part of the equation, meaning the Seahawks are expecting him back at some point during the season.

"Zach's a great player, he's not going to miss the whole year," Macdonald said.
