Friday Injury Report

The Seahawks have ruled two players out for Sunday, including rookie defensive tackle Byron Murphy II. Murphy was unable to practice for the second consecutive week due to a hamstring injury that forced him to leave the Week 3 win over the Dolphins. Also ruled out is second year nose tackle Cameron Young. The former fourth round pick was recently designated to return to practice and has been getting limited work in practice this week but needs more time to get ready for game action.

The team listed two defensive starters as questionable as linebacker Boye Mafe and safety Julian Love have been recovering from lower body injuries. Mafe sat out last week's game in Detroit with a knee injury while Love was forced to leave the game on Monday night because of a thigh injury. Love fully participated in each of the past two practices which is a good sign that he could be ready for Sunday. Mafe missed the first practice of the week but was limited in the last two. "It was a good week of practice for both guys. They're both working through their individual things and it's positive," said head coach Mike Macdonald when asked about the status of Mafe and Love. "It's all good, guys aren't having setbacks so it's a matter of when it's the best for them to come back right now."

Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu is not on the game status report so there's a chance he could make his season debut against the Giants. Nwosu injured his knee in the preseason finale and has not played since, but he will be available on Sunday after being limited him in each of the three practices this week. Leonard Williams was not given a game status designation so he will be available to play against his former team in Week 5. Williams had been dealing with a ribs injury that kept from playing on Monday night but was able to practice in a limited capacity throughout the week and the coaches feel he is healthy enough to return. Seattle will also have both of their starting inside linebackers available as Tyrel Dodson and Jerome Baker aren't on the game status report. Baker missed the previous two weeks with a hamstring injury and Dodson had been listed on the injury report with an ankle and shoulder injury throughout the week.

The Giants have officially ruled rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers out for Sunday's contest in Seattle. Nabers was unable to practice all week as he has been in concussion protocol since their Week 4 matchup with the Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. They'll be without their leading receiver and could also be missing their leading rusher in Devin Singletary as he is listed as doubtful due to a groin injury. He was able to get limited work in during Friday's practice after missing the previous two but is still unlikely to play on Sunday. Three players, including two cornerbacks, are questionable due to injuries. Both veteran cornerback Adoree' Jackson and rookie cornerback Dru Phillips are dealing with calf injuries that forced them to miss practice on Wednesday and limited them in the next two practices of the week.

Thursday Injury Report

Seahawks rookie defensive tackle Byron Murphy II was one of three players to miss Thursday's practice but two of them were listed with NIR-personal designations. Murphy has not been able to practice since injuring his hamstring in Week 3. Johnathan Hankins missed his second consecutive practice due to personal reasons while rookie linebacker Tyrice Knight was also given a NIR-personal status designation to go along with his knee injury that placed him in the full participation list yesterday.

After missing practice on Wednesday, linebackers Boye Mafe and Tyrel Dodson returned as limited participants. Mafe sat out the loss to the Lions on Monday but is doing everything in his power to make it back in time to face the New York Giants on Sunday. Inside linebacker Tyrel Dodson sat out Wednesday's practice due to a shoulder and ankle injury but was able to get some work in on Thursday. After fully participating on Wednesday, running back Kenneth Walker III was limited today because of his oblique injury that forced him to miss two weeks.

Uchenna Nwosu and Leonard Williams were limited for a second consecutive day which is a good sign that they are making progress in returning from injury. Nwosu has practiced two days in a row for the first time since injuring his knee in the preseason. Williams missed the team's most recent game but is working his way back with the hopes of facing his former team on Sunday. Wide receiver DK Metcalf was limited on Thursday due to a hand injury that has landed him on the injury report in recent weeks. Despite having the injury in recent weeks, this is the first practice where Metcalf has not been a full participant.

Julian Love fully practiced on Thursday after being limited earlier in the week. Love left the game Monday night in Detroit with a thigh injury and was unable to return to game action. Love is in good shape to return to game action in time to play against the team that drafted him, the New York Giants.

Giants rookie receiver Malik Nabers did not practice for the second consecutive day as he is still in concussion protocol. The standout rookie was concussed in the 4th quarter of their Week 4 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday Night Football and has not been able to get any work in as he is still in the early stages of concussion protocol. New York's starting running back, Devin Singletary, also missed his second straight practice because of a groin injury. Two cornerbacks, Adoree Jackson and Dru Phillips, returned to practice in a limited capacity after missing the first practice of the week due to calf injuries.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks held a walkthrough on Wednesday afternoon as they are coming off a short week due to the game on Monday night. The team released an estimation of the injury report had the team fully practiced and four players did not participate, three due to injuries. Defensive tackle Byron Murphy II and linebacker Boye Mafe were among the players who did not participate in the walkthrough as they are trying to work their way back from lower body injuries. Both players did not play against the Lions as Murphy is dealing with a hamstring injury and Mafe has a knee injury. Murphy was unable to practice all of last week and starts this week on the sideline. Mafe has been dealing with a knee injury that listed him on the injury report in recent weeks, but Monday night was the first game he could not play in.

Tyrel Dodson was also unable to participate on Wednesday as he is suffering from a shoulder injury and now is dealing with an ankle injury on top of it. Dodson had been on the injury report in recent weeks with the shoulder injury but is now dealing with a new ailment that forced him to miss today's walkthrough. The final player that was unable practice was Johnathan Hankins as he is listed with a NIR-personal designation.

In good news, Leonard Williams and Uchenna Nwosu were among the nine players limited on Wednesday afternoon. Nwosu has yet to make his season debut because of a knee injury suffered in the preseason finale while Williams missed his first game of the season last week with a rib injury. Starting safety Julian Love was also limited because of a thigh injury that forced him to exit Monday's loss to the Lions. "I think he's doing OK," said head coach Mike Macdonald. "I haven't talked to him in the last X amount of hours or so, but things are all right."

Second-year defensive lineman Cameron Young returned to practice in a limited capacity for the first time this season. Young started the season on the PUP list but is now starting to work his way back to the field. Inside linebacker Jerome Baker also practiced in a limited capacity after missing the past two games. He has been dealing with a hamstring injury for the past few months and had to exit the Week 2 over the Patriots because of it.

Seven players were listed as full participants to start the week including DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III. Metcalf has been listed recently with a hand injury but that hasn't slowed him down as he has set a franchise record with three consecutive games with at least 100 receiving yards. Kenneth Walker III was a full participant as well after returning to game action last week. He had missed Weeks 2 and 3 because of an oblique injury but was able to return on Monday night and score three touchdowns.

The Giants began the week of preparation with two key rookies sidelined due to injuries. Their first round pick this season, Malik Nabers, suffered a concussion in their Week 4 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday Night Football and missed practice to start the week. Nabers has taken the league by storm as he leads the NFL in targets, ranks second in receiving yards with 386 and is tied for the second most receiving touchdowns in the league with three. Also missing practice is rookie cornerback Dru Phillips who has started two of his three games played. Two players were limited in practice, including Pro-Bowl outside linebacker Brian Burns. Also limited was wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson who is New York's second leading receiver.
