Friday's Injury Report

As expected, the Seahawks announced that left tackle Charles Cross will not play in their Week 2 matchup vs. the Detroit Lions. Cross exited the loss against the Rams in the second half with a toe injury and missed practice all this week. When asked about Cross, Pete Carroll said, "He's making progress. He's not going to make the trip, but he's making progress. He's not ready yet." With both Cross and right tackle Abraham Lucas out on Sunday, the Seahawks are expected to rely on tackles Stone Forysthe and Jake Curhan to anchor the offensive line.

Also ruled out was Jamal Adams who is still recovering from an injury suffered last season. The All-Pro safety practiced this week in a limited capacity as he is easing into making his season debut. Rookie defensive lineman Mike Morris will be unavailable this Sunday as he has been dealing with a shoulder problem. Morris was limited in practice last week but played in the team's season debut. He hasn't been able to practice at all this week, so the team ruled him out for Sunday's contest.

Linebackers Devin Bush (shoulder) and Boye Mafe (knee) are listed as questionable for Week 2. Bush was limited in practice on Wednesday and missed practice on Thursday but was able to make it back to practice in a limited capacity on Friday. Mafe missed practice on Friday with the hope that an extra day of rest will give him enough time to make it back for gameday. "We're going to go to gameday and give him all of the rest that we can possibly give him," said coach Carroll when asked about the status of the second-year linebacker.

One key player not listed on the injury report for Friday is rookie first round pick Devon Witherspoon. The fifth overall pick had been dealing with hamstring problems that prevented him from making his NFL debut against the Rams but will play in Detroit after fully participating in practice all week.

The Lions revealed on Friday that cornerbacks Emmanuel Moseley (knee/hamstring) and Khalil Dorsey (illness), and defensive lineman Josh Paschal (knee) will be unavailable for Week 2. Starting left tackle Taylor Decker is listed as doubtful for Sunday as he has been dealing with an ankle issue that kept him out of practice all week. With Decker potentially not playing this week, the game could feature backup left tackles for each team.

Thursday's Injury Report

There were a few Seahawks who didn't practice on Thursday afternoon due to injury. Tackle Charles Cross (toe) and defensive end Mike Morris (shoulder) missed practice for the second day in a row. With Abraham Lucas on injured reserve, the team could be without their starting tackles for their Week 2 matchup with Detroit. Linebacker Devin Bush was limited in practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury and did not practice on Thursday because of it. Jordyn Brooks was held out of practice on Thursday for resting purposes, but the linebacker is expected to play on Sunday in Detroit.

Similar to Wednesday's practice, Jamal Adams was limited in practice on Thursday as the team is easing his way back onto the field after returning from a season ending injury he suffered last season. Second year linebacker Boye Mafe, who missed practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury, returned to practice on Thursday in a limited capacity. Mafe's availability for Sunday is trending upwards.  Another positive sign for the defense is that Devon Witherspoon was a full participant in practice for the second day in row, increasing the likelihood that he will make his NFL debut in Detroit.

The Lions' injury report remains unchanged since Wednesday's report as tackle Taylor Decker (ankle) and cornerbacks Emmanuel Moseley (knee/hamstring) and Khalil Dorsey (illness) missed practice on Thursday. Center Frank Ragnow was a full participant in practice for the second day in a row.

Wednesday's Injury Report

The Seahawks defense got a huge boost of energy for practice this week as defensive backs Jamal Adams and Devon Witherspoon practiced on Wednesday afternoon. Adams, who is still recovering from his season ending quadriceps injury that he suffered in Week 1 of the 2022 season, made it back to practice in a limited capacity. Witherspoon, the fifth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was limited in practice last week and was inactive for the season opener due to a hamstring injury but was a full participant in today's practice. He hopes to make his NFL debut against Detroit this Sunday. "(Adams) is practicing today. Witherspoon is practicing today, going full-go. This is an important day for those guys, an important day for us to get those guys back out," said Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll when asked about the defensive backs. "We'll be careful with Jamal's reps, this is his first time on the field, but we'll get him out there, he'll work a little service team today and all that and start his way back."

Left tackle Charles Cross left the Rams game on Sunday with a toe injury and missed practice on Wednesday because of it. Also not practicing were defenders Boye Mafe (knee) and Mike Morris (shoulder). Morris was limited in practice last week with the same injury but was able to play against the Rams. Linebacker Devin Bush was a limited participant in today's practice with a shoulder injury.

Also listed on the injury report was tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) and nose tackle Cameron Young (knee). Despite dealing with injuries, they were each full participants in practice.

The Lions offensive line is dealing with injury issues this week as starting tackle Taylor Decker and starting center Frank Ragnow were listed with injuries. Decker was held out of practice with an ankle injury while Ragnow fully participated despite dealing with a toe issue.
