Six Seahawks Selected To 2026 Pro Bowl Games

Six Seahawks players were selected to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games, including four players named as starters.

The Seahawks have been one of the league's best teams in 2025, winning 12 of their first 15 games to clinch a playoff berth and move into first place in the NFC West, so it's no surprise that they will also be well represented at the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.

Six Seahawks were selected to the NFC squad, which was named on Tuesday: quarterback Sam Darnold, outside linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence, kick returner Rashid Shaheed, receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, cornerback Devon Witherspoon and defensive tackle Leonard Williams.

Four of those players, Shaheed, Smith-Njigba, Witherspoon and Williams, were selected as starters.

The Pro Bowl games, which will feature a 7-on-7 flag football game on February 3, will take place in San Francisco during the week leading up to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, marking the first time the Pro Bowl has been merged into the league's Super Bowl festivities.

Seattle's group of Pro Bowlers is made up of three players who were acquired this year, Darnold and Lawrence, who were free-agent signings, and Shaheed, a midseason trade acquisition, two 2023 first-round picks in Witherspoon and Smith-Njigba, and a 2023 trade acquisition in Williams.

The six Pro-Bowl selections are tied for the second highest total in franchise history, with six previous teams producing seven Pro Bowlers (1984, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020). Only five previous Seahawks teams have had six or more Pro-Bowl selections in the initial vote prior to alternates being added, the 1984, 2015 and 2020 teams, which had seven, and the 2007 and 2013 teams, which had six.

This is the third consecutive Pro-Bowl selection for Witherspoon, making him just the fourth player in team history to be named a Pro Bowler in each of his first three seasons along with quarterback Russell Wilson (2012-2015), linebacker Lofa Tatupu (2005-2007) and linebacker/special teamer Fredd Young (1984-1987). Like those other three, Witherspoon was named one of the Top 50 players in franchise history earlier this year as part of the team’s celebration of its 50th season. Witherspoon's 2025 season has so far included 64 tackles, six passes defensed, one interception, one fumble recovery, half a sack, two tackles for loss and four quarterback hits, but those numbers don't begin to illustrate his impact on the defense, as Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald explained earlier this month, saying, "He's part of the engine that makes the whole thing go. He's probably the sparkplug behind the whole thing."

Witherspoon's fellow 2023 first-round pick and friend Smith-Njigba will be headed to his second straight Pro Bowl following the best receiving season in franchise history. Through 15 games, Smith-Njigba is the league's leading receiver with 1,637 receiving yards, a single-season franchise record by more than 300 yards, and his 104 receptions are also a franchise record, while his 10 receiving touchdowns are tied for the third most in the league. He was also named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October.

Williams, who made his second career Pro Bowl and first as a Seahawk last year, is a dominant force in the middle of Seattle's defensive line who helps anchor one of the league's best fronts. In addition to being tied with Byron Murphy II for team lead in sacks with 7.0, Williams also leads the team with 22 quarterback hits, and his nine tackles for loss are tied for second most on the team.

Shaheed, who was acquired in a midseason trade with the Saints, is the only player in the league this season with kick and punt return touchdowns, having accomplished that in the span of three weeks, and one of three players in franchise history to accomplish that feat in one season along with Nate Burleson and Tyler Lockett. Shaheed returned a kickoff 100 yards in a Week 14 win over the Falcons, helping him earn NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, and in Seattle's Week 16 win over the Rams, he returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown that helped spark a comeback from a 16-point fourth quarter deficit. Shaheed has also been a playmaker on offense, recording two catches to set up a game-winning field goal in a win over Indianapolis, and gaining 31 yards on a rush to help set up a touchdown in the comeback in over the Rams.

Darnold, who signed with the Seahawks in March shortly after they traded Geno Smith to Las Vegas, is a Pro-Bowl selection for the second straight season, having also made it last year in a breakout season with the Vikings. In his first season with the Seahawks, he has completed a career-best 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,703 yards, 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, giving him a 100.6 passer rating. Darnold's 8.7 yards-per-attempt average and 13.0 yards-per-completion average both lead the league, and he has four game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime, tied for the second most in the league, including the touchdown drive and two-point conversion in Seattle's Week 16 win over the Rams. With a 12-3 record this season after going 14-3 with the Vikings last year, Darnold is the first quarterback to win 12 or more games in consecutive seasons with two different teams.

Lawrence, who, like Darnold, signed in the first week of free agency, has been a playmaker and leader for one of the league's best defenses from almost the minute he set foot in the building. Lawrence's 10 tackles for loss are tied for the most on the team, while his 18 quarterback hits rank second to Williams. Lawrence has also contributed 5.0 sacks, 46 tackles, two forced fumbles, one of which Macdonald described as “probably my new favorite play of all time,” and a pair of touchdowns scored on fumble recovery returns in a Week 10 win over the Cardinals, helping him earn NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
