The Seahawks signed D'Anthony Bell to their practice squad on Saturday, bringing the veteran safety back to provide extra depth ahead of Wednesday's opener against the Patriots.
Outside linebacker Marvin Jones Jr. was released to make room on the practice squad.
Bell, who initially signed with the Seahawks in 2025, spent most of last season with Seattle, appearing in 14 games with two starts, but finished the year with the Panthers after they claimed him off waivers late in the season. The Seahawks re-signed Bell this offseason, then released him as part of the cutdown to 53 players.
Bell is the fourth safety on Seattle's practice squad along with AJ Finley, Rodney Thomas II and Maxen Hook, and the Seahawks very likely could tap into that depth by elevating one or two of them Wednesday seeing as the Seahawks have only three safeties on their 53-man roster, Julian Love, Ty Okada and Nick Emmanwori.
