The Seahawks signed linebacker Josh Ross to their practice squad on Wednesday, adding depth at a position affected by multiple injuries.

Guard Evan Beentsen, a rookie out of Northwestern who signed to the practice squad last month, was released to make room for Ross.

Ross, who went undrafted out of Michigan in 2022, spent his first two-plus seasons in Baltimore where he played under current Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, then was claimed off waivers by the Seahawks during the 2024 season. Most recently, Ross spent time on the Vikings' practice squad last season as well as training camp and the preseason with Minnesota this year.

Ross has played in 22 games over three seasons, primarily playing on special teams, including 10 for the Seahawks in 2024. He gives the Seahawks a second off-ball linebacker on the practice squad, along with Jimmy Ciarlo, to give Seattle added depth with Drake Thomas, Chazz Surratt and Tyrice Knight all on this week's injury report.
