The Seahawks activated running back Zach Charbonnet from the physically unable to perform list, adding him back to the 53-man roster ahead of Seattle's Week 7 game against the Chiefs.

Tight end Elijah Arroyo, who suffered a shoulder injury in last week's game at Denver, was placed on injured reserve to make room on the roster.

The move does not guarantee that Charbonnet will play in Sunday night's game, though Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said earlier in the week that it is a real possibility. Because Charbonnet returned to practice on October 1, Thursday marked the end of his 21-day practice window, meaning the Seahawks had to add him back to the 53-man roster or have him sit out the entire season.

"Zach is going to have a full week's worth of reps, so that's exciting, and there's a possibility that you could see him on Sunday in some capacity, so that's exciting," Macdonald said on Monday.

And whether or not Charbonnet plays this Sunday, Macdonald noted how impressive it is that the running back is even close to returning considering he is only eight months removed from surgery to repair a torn ACL.

"It's remarkable," Macdonald said. "I know he's had a certain date in mind, which is a really ambitious date. Those who have tried to come back from a significant knee surgery understand the undertaking that it takes. Zach's a beast. He looks great. It's not easy to say, 'All right, let's go.' So for him to have that courage to say that and work through the things he's worked through, you can't do anything but tip your cap to him."

Seahawks practiced on Wednesday, October 21 as they get ready for their upcoming Sunday Night Football matchup vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.
