DENVER—The Seahawks elevated receiver Irv Charles and linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo from their practice squad ahead of their Week 6 game against the Broncos.

Both players will be making their Seahawks debuts in Thursday night's game.

Charles, who the Seahawks acquired in an offseason trade, opened the season on injured reserve, and was activated earlier in the week. Known as a special teams standout during his time with the Jets, Charles figures to have a big role in that phase of the game.

"He's a guy that we were excited to acquire," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. "Shoutout to our personnel folks for making that happen. He's a heck of a player on special teams and I think he can help us on offense as well in a certain capacity."

Ciarlo, who signed to Seattle's practice squad earlier this season, gives the Seahawks added depth at linebacker with Drake Thomas and Chazz Surratt both ruled out due to injuries, and will also likely have a role on special teams.

Ciarlo, who went undrafted out of Army in 2024, signed with the Jets after the draft, but missed his rookie season due to a knee injury. He joined the Bills in 2025, appearing in one game, and has also spent time with the Dolphins and Titans.

Charles, who signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2022, appeared in 25 games for New York in 2023 and 2024, establishing himself as a special teams standout before tearing his ACL late in his second season, which caused him to miss all of the 2025 season. Over two seasons, Charles recorded 14 special teams tackles as well as one blocked punt.
