The Seahawks signed linebacker Jon Rhattigan, adding him to the 53-man roster after he played in each of the team's first three games as a practice squad elevation.
Rhattigan, who first joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Army in 2021, has been a core special teams player since his rookie season, and played 57 percent of Seattle's special teams snaps through the first three games.
Because members of the practice squad can only be elevated three times in a season, adding Rhattigan to the 53-man roster was required for him to continue to be part of the team's game-day plans.
The Seahawks had an open roster spot, having waived receiver Cody Thompson on Wednesday.
