The Seahawks made an addition to their practice squad on Friday, signing defensive end Hamilcar Rashed. He takes the place of outside linebacker Tyreke Smith, who was signed to Arizona's 53-man roster.

Rashed, who went undrafted out of Oregon State in 2021, has spent time with Jets, Steelers and Buccaneers over the past three seasons, appearing in one game for the Jets in 2021. In six preseason games for the Jets and Steelers, Rashed recorded 13 tackles and 2.5 sacks, including a sack against the Seahawks in last year's preseason game in Pittsburgh.

At Oregon State, Rashed set school records with 14 sacks and an FBS-leading 22.5 tackles for loss in 2019, earning him second-team AP All-America honors.

Smith, a fifth-round pick in last year's draft, missed his rookie season due to injury. He was on Seattle's initial 53-man roster, and appeared in one game, a Week 2 win in Detroit, then was waived and signed to the practice squad.
