All the Seahawks news you might have missed from this week.

11-14-25-seahawks-roundup

Good afternoon, 12s. Here's a look at what's going on out there and any news you might have missed, about your Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks play Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT against the Los Angeles Rams. Here is news from the week to get you ready for the matchup and other news out there about the Seattle Seahawks.

With the NFL being so interconnected, it's always easy to find connections between players, coaches, hometowns and more. Here are some interesting ties between Seattle and L.A.

Cooper Kupp, Seahawks receiver

In March, during the offseason, receiver Cooper Kupp signed with the Seahawks after being released by the Rams. Kupp is nine games into his Seahawks tenure and will face his former team for the first time in Week 11. Following Seattle's win against the Cardinals, Kupp said, "We're getting ready to prepare for what that team presents to us, and I think they're playing good ball right now. Shoot, just looking forward to another great challenge. Go out there and go this week and try to go 1-0."

Ernest Jones IV, Seahawks linebacker

Ernest Jones IV spent his first three seasons with the Rams, after being drafted by them in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He was then traded to the Tennessee Titans and then traded to the Seahawks within two months. While he was with the Rams, he played in 47 games, starting 33 of those.

Seahawks senior reporter John Boyle gave out his midseason honors with quarterback Sam Darnold winning offensive MVP, defensive end Leonard Williams winning defensive MVP and Jason Myers winning special teams MVP. Check out the rest of the honors, including best rookies, best newcomers and unsung heroes here.

Five questions from Seahawks.com about this week's opponent; five answers from TheRams.com staff writer Wyatt Miller.

What matchup or matchups are you most looking forward to seeing play out on Sunday?

Miller: Jared Verse vs. Charles Cross. Cross might not get the same recognition as some of the other big names in that 2022 draft class, but he's been extremely dependable at left tackle this season. We all saw what happened to Sam Darnold in last year's wild card round when Shula brought exotic looks and pressures his way – the collapsing pockets got to him. Obviously, this is a different team and scheme, but keeping Verse out of the backfield as much as possible will surely be a priority for offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, and Cross will be the man responsible for that on most plays.

Segdeha.com on Bluesky asks, "Riq Woolen had an incredible game. Any sense he keeps his starting spot once Josh Jobe is back?"

A: You are correct in your assessment that Woolen played well on Sunday, and really he has strung three straight strong performances together since returning from a concussion. Woolen opened Seattle's game at Washington behind Jobe and Witherspoon on the depth chart, coming in when the Seahawks wanted all three corners on the field, but after Jobe left with a concussion, Woolen became an every-down corner, and held that role again with Jobe out last week. When Jobe returns, which very well could be this week, it will create a good problem for coaches. Woolen has played well enough in recent weeks to merit a starting role, but Jobe has also played well all season and done nothing to suggest he is in line for a demotion.

"He has stacked for about a month now," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said of Woolen's recent play. "He's stacked a lot of great practices, all the preparation and all the steps. When you watch our practice, he's been incredibly productive in practice, making plays on the ball, and you're seeing that on tape. The way he finished plays in the past game yesterday was great."

In the past, all three corners would play a lot regardless of who was the starter in base defense, but with the Seahawks playing so much big nickel with Nick Emmanwori in the game instead of a third cornerback, there will likely be less playing time for one of those two. Whoever gets the start, Woolen's recent return to form is great news for the team's cornerback depth heading into the second half of the season.

"It's a process," Macdonald said of Woolen's improvement. "It's just the incremental gains every day. (He's) just been going to do the reps with the attention to detail, the preparation, the extra ball drills, and all those things that makes the ball come to life on Sunday."

The Seahawks get set to hit the road for a pivotal divisional showdown vs. the 7-2 Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. The team will wear their white jerseys along with the college navy pants for the first of two matchups vs. the Rams this season.
