Good afternoon, 12s. Here's a look at what's going on out there and any news you might have missed, about your Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks have enjoyed their first few weeks of the offseason after winning Super Bowl LX. Seattle has hired a new offensive coordinator to take over for Klint Kubiak and they are preparing to spend a week in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine.

Seahawks Hire Offensive Coordinator Brian Fleury

One of the first orders of business for the Super Bowl champion Seahawks was finding a new offensive coordinator, and head coach Mike Macdonald and general manager and president of football operations John Schneider wasted little time in making that important decision, hiring Brian Fleury, who previously held the title of run game coordinator and tight ends coach for the 49ers.

Fleury replaces Klint Kubiak, who was named the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders shortly after the Seahawks defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl LX.

Seahawks Offensive Coordinator Brian Fleury Not Looking For Huge Changes But To 'Maintain' What Made Seattle's Offense Successful

In Thursday's introductory press conference for Seahawks new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury, head coach Mike Macdonald reiterated the sentiment that the Seahawks wanted to keep as much as possible the same in who the offensive play caller would be.

Seattle found it in Fleury who, like his predecessor, Klint Kubiak, spent time under San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, learning his style of offense.

"I do think one of the advantages of taking this job is there is going to be a lot of continuity," Fleury said. "I've already started to dive into everything Klint was doing last year, and the goal would be to maintain as much of that as possible. There's also areas where we can supplement that and things that we've developed and done in San Francisco under Kyle that Klint wasn't there for or maybe didn't implement as much. So that's going to be the goal, is to keep as much as we can the same, but I think there's definitely areas where we can grow some different ways. We can challenge the players that they should be looking forward to when they get back too."

Mike Macdonald On New Seahawks Offensive Coordinator Brian Fleury: 'It Felt Like He Was One Of Us'

A little over two weeks after the Seahawks won Super Bowl LX with Klint Kubiak as the offensive coordinator, Seattle was introducing a new offensive coordinator next to Mike Macdonald at a Thursday press conference.

The Seahawks hired former San Francisco 49ers run game coordinator/tight ends coach Brian Fleury as their next offensive coordinator. After coming off of a Super Bowl championship season, Macdonald's mindset was to keep as much as possible the same.

"The continuity is really important," he said. "I think we were able to do that still with hiring Brian. This is still year three for me. It's all about the process. You just want to be disciplined to that and have respect for all the layers of it and all the steps. I felt like we did that, and it became clear that this was the best decision, the best way to go as we finished it up."

Seahawks Showing That Super Bowl Week Is 'The Ultimate Place For Being Loose And Focused'

Despite the high stakes involved, the Seahawks are the same loose and focused team that they have been all season.

The John Schneider Show on Seattle Sports Radio

Seahawks general manager/president of football operations John Schneider made an appearance on Seattle Sports Radio for his weekly offseason show, The John Schneider Show, which airs every Thursday at 4 p.m. PT through the offseason.

This week, Schneider talked about the hiring of Fleury, the news of the team being put up for sale, preparing for the NFL Combine, as well as briefly touching on contract extensions.

On the hiring of Fleury and that process, Schneider said, "Mike did a great job of following his process. We're going to interview some in-house guys, outside the building as well and this is what our process is going to look like. Want to stay consistent and he did a great job. Brian ended up being at the top of the list. But it was really about how do we have that system, that continuity, trying to keep as many guys as we possibly can."
