SAN JOSE, Calif.—The Seahawks elevated running backs Cam Akers and Velus Jones Jr. from the practice squad ahead of Super Bowl LX.

Those two will give the Seahawks added depth at running back behind starter Kenneth Walker III and George Holani, the latter of whom moved into the No. 2 spot with Zach Charbonnet going on injured reserve last month due to a knee injury.

This will be the second Super Bowl for Akers, who played in the Rams' Super Bowl win over the Bengals four years ago. Akers, who signed with the Seahawks in November, has appeared in four games for the Seahawks this season, including the NFC championship game win over his former team. A second-round pick in 2020, Akers has appeared in 59 games with 17 starts over six seasons with the Rams, Vikings, Texans and Seahawks.

Jones, who was signed to Seattle's practice squad earlier in the season, has appeared in four games with the Seahawks, postseason included, and carried 10 times for 42 yards. A 2022 third-round pick, Jones has appeared in 37 games with two starts during four seasons with the Bears, Saints, Panthers and Seahawks.

The Seahawks get set to face off against the New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Check out some of the pregame sights from the venue of Super Bowl LX.
