Super Bowl week is officially under way as the Opening Night festivities kicked off in San Jose, California Monday night. The Seahawks and the Patriots took center stage and covered seemingly everything from reflections on the journey to Sam Darnold donning a ham-like, fan-made hat. Seahawks Arrive In Bay Area For Super Bowl LX

The Seahawks touched down in San Jose Sunday evening, kicking off their week in the Bay Area as they prepare for Super Bowl LX.

As has been the case all season, the team was a loose and focused group arriving at the team hotel, with some players (Devon Witherspoon) emphasizing the loose part of that equation, and others (Jaxon Smith-Njigba) the focused side.

Those two, along with special teams standout Brady Russell, will serve as team captains for the Super Bowl, which will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Levi's Stadium. This is the Seahawks' second trip to the Bay Area in the past month, having also played at Levi's Stadium in Week 18 when they beat the 49ers to clinch the NFC West title and the No. 1 seed...

Seahawks Embrace Uniqueness of Super Bowl Opening Night

Somewhere between Abraham Lucas meeting Chris Kael, the bassist from metal band Five Finger Death Punch, and Brady Russell explaining his playoff mullet to a German reporter, and Ernest Jones IV getting Pokémon cards from someone in a Charizard costume, and Sam Darnold briefly putting on a hat shaped like a giant ham, there was some football talk mixed in on Monday night.

But while the rest of this week in the Bay Area will be focused on football and Seahawks' Super LX matchup with the Patriots, Super Bowl Opening Night is a far less serious event. The evening began with Patriots players and coaches spending an hour with media, followed by Seahawks players and coaches having their hour to field questions from everyone ranging from local beat reporters to international media to kid reporters to comedian Craig Gass to, yes, people in costumes...
