The Seahawks touched down in San Jose Sunday evening, kicking off their week in the Bay Area as they prepare for Super Bowl LX.

As has been the case all season, the team was a loose and focused group arriving at the team hotel, with some players (Devon Witherspoon) emphasizing the loose part of that equation, and others (Jaxon Smith-Njigba) the focused side.

Those two, along with special teams standout Brady Russell, will serve as team captains for the Super Bowl, which will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Levi's Stadium. This is the Seahawks' second trip to the Bay Area in the past month, having also played at Levi's Stadium in Week 18 when they beat the 49ers to clinch the NFC West title and the No. 1 seed.

The Seahawks and Patriots will both take part in Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday, one of the more eventful media events of Super Bowl week, then there will be added media obligations Tuesday through Thursday in addition to the usual game preparation. Players and coaches know this week will come with some added obligations, but are ready for the unique challenges the Super Bowl will throw at them.

"The days will look a little bit different," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. "It's really the intent behind what we're trying to do every day. Just staying focused on the things that we can control, because there is so much extra, you know. And that comes with the territory, so it's exciting. It's an opportunity to kind of get it right, and I trust our guys. Our guys will be great. They know that we got one goal in mind. Let's go make it happen."

Veteran receiver Cooper Kupp is one of the few players on Seattle's roster who has taken part in a Super Bowl, playing in one, and taking part in the events leading up to another, which he missed due to injury.

"All of these guys here, if guys handle their business and go about their process, these moments become just another moment on the path," said Kupp, who was the MVP of the Rams' Super Bowl win four years ago. "It's just been the way we've gone about things. If you're where your feet are—you handle what today is a great football Thursday for us on a Friday, and everyone's focused on that, seeing that, seeing the vibes from the guys coming in and working and just being focused on the here and now, there's not a whole lot that needs to be said.

"Any time you get to do this, it is one of the pinnacles of your life. There's a lot of moments that you're going to look back on in your life that are going to be really cool, and it's just one of those moments, but it is a very cool moment to be a part of. You enjoy it, have some gratitude for the fact that you're here, and all the work that it took to get here, all the people you got to work with to get here. So I'm taking it all in one day at a time… I'm not concerned about that (the distractions of Super Bowl week). We're going to have a great plan, and just go out there and be where our feet are. There's going to be a lot of people pulling at you and doing all kinds of other things, but when you're at practice, be at practice, and when you've got to talk to the media, be there and talk to the media."

Seahawks players and staff arrived in the Bay Area on Sunday, February 1, 2026, a week ahead of their matchup vs. the Patriots.
