Running back Zach Charbonnet will not make his 2026 debut when the Seahawks host the Chiefs on Sunday night.

Charbonnet, who is working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered in the divisional round of the playoffs, was able to practice fully this week, but was ruled out on Friday's injury report.

"We're going along with the plan," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. "The plan was to get a great week's worth of work and see where we're at, so we're going to take it into next week. I would just say it's part of the plan. Zach's doing great, and we'll go into next week and see how it goes."

Asked if there was any sort of setback for Charbonnet, who had surgery in February,  Macdonald said, "No setback. If anything, it's going as good as we could have hope it could go."

Charbonnet is one of three players ruled out for Sunday's game along with linebackers Drake Thomas (ankle) and Chazz Surratt (calf). Thomas will be missing a second straight game with an ankle injury suffered in Week 5, meaning another chance for Tyrice Knight, who started in Thomas' place last week, recording seven tackles in a strong performance against Denver.

"Tyrice has done a really nice job," Macdonald said. "It's seamless. He goes in—he's got a little different style of play than Drake, which is cool—it's really productive and I know him and EJ have a great rapport as well. Guys are excited for him. He's a guy that deserves to play. We've tried to find ways to do it when Drake is up, but now that he has an opportunity, he's definitely taking advantage of it."

The Seahawks have five players listed as questionable, safety Nick Emmanwori (hip), outside linebackers Uchenna Nwosu (hip) and DeMarcus Lawrence (knee), backup quarterback Drew Lock (right elbow) and outside linebacker Connor O'Toole (hamstring). Lawrence and Nwosu's injuries were new on Thursday's report, and both players were limited in practice Friday. Emmanwori was new to the injury report Friday and listed as limited.

"He just had a hip today, he's going to be questionable," Macdonald said.

When asked when Emmanwori got hurt, Macdonald said, "I wouldn't say he got hurt. He's had a hip today…. The hip is new today."
