NASHVILLE—The Seahawks placed rookie receiver Tory Horton on injured reserve ahead of their Week 12 game against the Titans, meaning he will have to miss at least four games before being eligible to return.

The Seahawks also elevated linebackers Patrick O'Connell and Jamie Sheriff from the practice squad, adding linebacker depth with multiple injuries affecting the team a that position.

Horton, a fifth-round pick out of Colorado State, had given the Seahawks an explosive playmaking option at receiver and punt returner prior to sustaining a shin injury that has kept him out of the previous two games. Horton has five receiving touchdowns this season, including two in his most recent game, the Seahawks' Week 9 win over the Commanders, as well as a 95-yard punt return touchdown.

At linebacker, starting middle linebacker Ernest Jones IV is questionable with a knee injury and did not practice on Friday. He initially injured the knee in Seattle's Week 9 win over the Commanders, then missed the following game before returning to play against the Rams last weekend.

"His knee, really from a couple weeks ago, just working through it," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said after Friday's practice. "He hasn't reinjured anything or anything, he's just working through his knee."

The Seahawks will be without linebacker Tyrice Knight, who was ruled out due to the concussion he suffered in last week's game.

If Jones can't play, that would leave the Seahawks without two of their top three off-ball linebackers, and would leave them in need of a starter alongside Drake Thomas.

Chazz Surratt is the only other off-ball linebacker on the 53-man roster behind Jones, Thomas and Knight. Surratt, who signed before the start of the season, has been one of the Seahawks' top special teams players but has seen limited playing time on defense, playing seven snaps against the Commanders in Week 9. He does have starting experience, however having started five games for the Jets last season.

O'Connell, who joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Montana in 2023, has appeared in eight games over the past three seasons, including Seattle's past two games.

Sheriff signed with the Seahawks last year as an undrafted free agent out of South Alabama, and came into the league as an outside linebacker/edge rusher and was a preseason standout in that role, but he later made the transition to off-ball linebacker with the Seahawks.
