The Seahawks signed linebacker Aaron Smith on Tuesday, while fullback Robbie Ouzts was placed on injured reserve.

Ouzts, a fifth-round pick in last year's draft, appeared in 12 games with two starts during his rookie season. He missed time early in the year with an ankle injury that landed him on injured reserve, then was inactive for the NFC championship game and for Super Bowl LX due to a neck injury. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald has not disclosed the nature of Ouzts' current injury that has sidelined him during training camp.

With Ouzts out, the Seahawks' current options are Brady Russell, who made the switch from tight end to fullback last season, and Brock Lampe, who signed with Seattle last week after spending his rookie season with the Patriots.

Smith, who went undrafted out of South Carolina State in 2025, signed with the Jets last spring, then was waived prior to the start of the season before being signed to the practice squad.
