Monday Round-Up: DK Metcalf Surprises Mom With New Car

Seahawks rookie wide receiver and No. 64 overall draft pick DK Metcalf surprised his mom with a new car over the weekend.

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Monday, October 7 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Big Saturday Surprise

Over the weekend, Seahawks rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf surprised his mom with a new car for her birthday. He shared a video of the surprise on Instagram, and let me tell you, social media reacted.

It didn't take long for a handful of other news sources to repost the second-round draft pick's video after he posted the original. The video arguably went viral on Twitter as largely-followed sports accounts such as The Checkdown, ESPN, and Bleacher Report shared the heart-warming video.

Metcalf's mom was seemingly speechless as the Ole Miss alumnus walked her over to her new car. She was in tears as she approached the vehicle and once she got in the new car, she appeared to invite everyone in to go for a ride.

The No. 64 overall draft pick has been making an impact on the Seahawks offense after hauling in a 40-yard touchdown in the Seahawks' Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, marking the second TD in his NFL career. It's always great to see players pay it forward and show gratitude towards their friends and family.

Social Post Of The Day

Today's 'Social Post of the Day' comes from the Seattle Sounders FC, as they shared a video of QB Russell Wilson and his family on the pitch postgame following the Sounders' 1-0 win over the Minnesota United on Sunday.
