September 17, 2006: Cortez Kennedy was inducted into the Seahawks Ring of Honor
After an extensive career with the Seahawks for 11 seasons, and playing in 167 games, with his first missed game coming in his eighth season, Kennedy became the 10th member inducted into the Seahawks Ring of Honor. He was named to the NFL All-Rookie team in 1990. His second season he earned a Pro Bowl nod and was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year. Kennedy went on to earn seven more Pro Bowl honors in his career, as well as three All-Pro honors (1992, 1993 and 1994).
September 18, 1988: Steve Largent becomes the NFL's All-Time Leader in Receiving Yards
In the Seahawks Week 3 matchup against the Chargers, Largent breaks Charlie Joiner's record of 12,146 yards. By the time he retired after the 1989 season, Largent held the all-time – and since broken – records for career receptions (819), receiving yards (13,089) and touchdown catches (100).
September 20, 1992: Tom Flores Gets First Win As Seahawks Head Coach
In a 10-6 win at New England, Seahawks head coach Tom Flores notched his first win as the Seahawks head coach. In that game, Cortez Kennedy had four-and-a-half tackles for loss, including three sacks, to lead the defense while Chris Warren rushed for 122 yards and one score on 24 carries to lead the offense. That game marked Warren's first career 100-yard game.
