Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, September 25 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due

A regularly mellow Tuesday morning at the Casa Latina in Seattle, Washington, was perfectly disrupted by a surprise visit from Blitz and the Seahawks Dancers. With a giant check in hand, Blitz and the dancers inconspicuously waltzed into the building. The room was full of men and women who were in awe of the energetic parade.

The Seahawks were present at Casa Latina, a Seattle-based immigrant worker rights organization, to honor one of their employees, Fredi Dubon, as the recipient of the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. Dubon is the Day Worker Center Coordinator at Casa Latina, in which he supports and connects Latino immigrant community members in the Seattle area to short and long-term employment opportunities.

As a part of the recognition, Dubon received a donation from the Seahawks of $2,000 to give to an organization of his choice that serves the local Hispanic community; in this case, he chose the Casa Latina to receive this donation.

In a recent press release, Fredi is mentioned to often go "above and beyond to make both job-seekers and employers reach their goals in a safe, friendly working environment. Fredi is also an OSHA-certified Health & Safety trainer, continuing efforts and emphasis of safety in the workplace. Fredi is highly regarded by his coworkers and is also a devoted family man."

The National Football League and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation have partnered for the ninth annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards during the 2019 celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The awards recognize the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market.
