Good morning, 12s.
Here’s a look at what’s ‘out there’ for today – Wednesday, October 23 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
Third down. Seahawks in the red zone. Wilson in the shotgun. Bet you can guess where Seahawks rookie receiver DK Metcalf is headed—That’s right, straight to the end zone.
According to Pro Football Focus, that’s where the big-bodied receiver has spent most of his time through the first seven weeks in the 2019 season. PFF tweeted out a graphic on Tuesday listing Metcalf as the League’s leader in end-zone targets through Week 7.
The No. 64 overall 2019 draft pick has recorded a total of nine targets in the end zone, which beats out two other receivers tied for second with eight targets (Lions WR Kenny Golladay and Vikings WR Adam Thielen).
Metcalf isn’t the only Seattle wideout to make the list, as veteran WR Tyler Lockett is tied for third on the list with a total of six end-zone targets.
The stat graphic comes as no surprise as Ole Miss alumnus has been making a clear impact on the Seahawks offense, putting up a total of 389-receiving-yards and two touchdowns so far this season. He’s started six of Seattle’s seven games this season and likely will be seeing more playing time as the season continues.
