Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Tuesday, March 3 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
The Seahawks #TackleReading In Seattle
Yesterday, March 2, wasn't just your average Monday. No, in fact, it was much more than that. I'm not referring to National Old Stuff Day and definitely not National Banana Cream Pie Day.
On Monday, March 2, the Seattle Seahawks recognized and honored Read Across America Day. The national holiday has been branded by the National Football league as, 'Tackle Reading.' You may have even unknowingly celebrated by reading yesterday's Round-Up. How did we celebrate? Well, let me explain.
Seahawks safety Tedric Thompson, joined by Blitz and the Seahawks Dancers, spent his Monday morning in Seattle visiting Thurgood Marshall Elementary School. The Seahawks crew was warmly welcomed by an assembly full of energetic students, most of who were representing wearing their favorite Seahawks gear.
Thompson headlined the visit with a reading of a popular children's book All Are Welcome in efforts to promote the importance of reading on Read Across America Day. The Seahawks crew then dropped by a handful of classrooms around the school to say hello and distribute some custom-designed bookmarks.
Help us and the NFL #TackleReading together. How did you celebrate?
Social Post Of The Day
Today's 'Social Post of the Day' comes from Seahawks quarterback and Sounders FC co-owner Russell Wilson, as he tweets out a message of excitement celebrating the home opener last Sunday. The Sounders came out on top against the Chicago Fire FC, 2-1.
