Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Tuesday, October 11 — about your Seattle Seahawks.

Geno Smith Named PFF Offensive Player of the Week

The Seattle Seahawks fell to 2-3 Sunday, with a 39-32 shootout loss to the New Orleans Saints on the road. Despite the loss, quarterback Geno Smith put together another stellar performance. Smith's efforts have led to him earning praise for his play - and the Pro Football Focus Week 5 Offensive Player of the Week award.

Smith led the way for Seattle against a stout New Orleans defense, completing 16-25 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Over the last two weeks, Seattle's red-hot offense has scored 80 points, despite splitting the contests 1-1.

Despite the loss, Smith was rewarded for his efforts by the Pro Football Focus team, who voted him the Week 5 PFF Offensive Player of the Week. Despite injury to running back Rashaad Penny, Smith nearly pulled off another road upset. The PFF team breaks down Smith's selection.

No Russell Wilson, no problem — the Geno Smith train keeps rolling. The veteran quarterback went 16-of-25 for 267 yards and three passing touchdowns against the Saints in Week 5, recording five big-time throws in the process. He averaged 10.3 yards per pass attempt, 14.9 air yards per pass attempt and went 5-of-9 for 189 yards on passes thrown 20-plus yards downfield.
