Tuesday Round-Up: Russell Wilson Up For Air Player Of The Week At NFL.com

Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today - Tuesday, November 27 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Wilson Up For Air Player Of The Week

Russell Wilson is one of three players nominated for Air Player of Week 12 at NFL.com following the Seattle signal caller's performance in this past Sunday's road win over the Carolina Panthers. Behind Wilson's impressive effort that saw the seventh-year quarterback complete 22-of-31 passes (71 percent) for a season-high 339 yards, toss two touchdowns, and record a 128.3 passer rating, the Seahawks earned a 30-27 victory to improve to 6-5 on the season.

“On a day when we couldn’t run the ball like we had been, we needed the throwing game, and Russ came through and had a great day throwing the football,” Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said postgame at Bank of America Stadium. “He just found so many key plays in crucial situations, and did a wonderful job of making plays down the stretch when we had to have them. Guys made the catches, and the pass protection was there for us. We love to run the football, but balance is what’s really the essence of this thing, and I’m thrilled we were able to do that.”

For the weekly honor, Wilson is up against Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, who threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-24 win over the Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, who threw for 342 yards and three scores in a 24-17 victory against the Green Bay Packers.

Voting is open at NFL.com now through 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, November 29. A $2,000 donation will be made to the USO in the winner’s name to help support service members transition back to civilian life.
