Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Tuesday, January 7 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Real Recognize Real.

Seven receptions, 160 receiving yards, and one touchdown. Now that kind of on-field performance is going to grab the attention of more than just your average football fan.

Seahawks rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf put up some career-defining numbers in his NFL Playoff debut last Sunday, as the Ole Miss alum made a name for himself in Philly. Metcalf's performance in the Seahawks' Wild Card round victory over the Eagles was a huge topic of conversation after contributing 6 of Seattle's 17 points.

The one and only NBA star LeBron James took it upon himself to show the rookie WR from Mississippi some love via Instagram story.

"Congrats young King. Too fast, too strong," Read James' caption on an action-packed photo of Metcalf from the game. It's not every day you see a sports icon like LeBron give a specially-customized shout out to anyone, let alone an NFL player.

James wasn't the only one recognizing Metcalf's star performance following the Seahawks' 17-9 win. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll joined the praise in his postgame press conference, "I think the night was stolen by DK," said Carroll. "He did some stuff that it's hard to imagine anyone else doing."

Thanks to that big chip on his shoulder, Metcalf was able to not only help lead his team to victory but break the record in the process for most playoff yards by a rookie in NFL history.
