Good afternoon, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Tuesday, December 5 — about your Seattle Seahawks.

Seahawks vets DeeJay Dallas and Uchenna Nwosu host winter coat drive.

With the holiday season in full swing, Seahawks running back DeeJay Dallas and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu are joining forces to lend a helping hand to others in need. In an effort to provide more resources to the youth this winter, the pair is collaborating with nonprofit youth foster care advocate Treehouse to host a winter coat drive on Tuesday evening.

The Los Angeles Chargers selected Nwosu in the second round of the 2018 draft, where he'd spend the first four seasons of his career. The Carson, California native gave back to Los Angeles area youth, earning the 2019 Champion of Youth honor from the Boys and Girls Club of Carson. That season, the Chargers named the second-year edge rusher their 2019 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee.

Nwosu joined the Seahawks in free agency in 2022, recording a career-high 9.5 sacks, while establishing himself in the Pacific Northwest as a community leader. Last December, Nwosu provided the Federal Way Boys and Girls Club with a new reading nook and books for children to learn how to read and enjoy.

Now, the USC alum is partnering with fourth-year running back DeeJay Dallas, who also has a self-titled non-profit catered to giving back to less-fortunate youth. In 2021, Dallas partnered with Detroit Lions safety Tracy Walker III to host his first-ever youth football camp in their native area of Brunswick, Georgia. Dallas has put that effort into helping the Pacific Northwest as well, joining Seahawks vice president of diversity, equity & inclusion Karen Wilkins-Mickey in presenting the Black Co-Op Fund of Washington with a $5,000 contribution from the franchise.

Nwosu and Dallas will be live from the Treehouse headquarters in South Seattle Tuesday from 3pm-8pm, taking donations of new clothing and winter coats in exchange for photo ops with the pair and entry into a raffle for autographed memorabilia. The pair is in search of coats, jackets and new sneakers for those in need across the area this holiday season.

The Treehouse is located at 2100 24th Ave #200 S Seattle, WA 98144. For more information on this evening's event and how to donate, read here.
