Thursday Round-Up: Get Ready For The 2020 NFL Draft

Everything you need to be ready for the NFL Draft, which kicks off tonight.

2020-04_23_RoundUp

Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look what's 'out there' for today – Thursday, April 23 – about your Seattle Seahawks.

Happy Draft Day, Everyone!

We're only hours away from the beginning of the 2020 NFL Draft, which figures to be, as Seahawks coach Pete Carroll put it, "a fascinating experience." Carroll, general manager John Schneider and everyone else around the NFL will be working from home due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. But unusual or not, the draft kicks off this evening at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, giving NFL and sports fans a welcome distraction during these trying times.

As things stand right now, the Seahawks are scheduled to pick 27th tonight, and hold seven total picks, but we all know things can and quite possibly will change—the Seahawks haven't used their original first-round pick since 2011. But for now, here are Seattle's picks.

Round 1, 27 overall

Round 2, 59

Round 2, 64 (from Kansas City)

Round 3, 101*

Round 4, 133

Round 4, 144*

Round 6, 214*

*—Compensatory selections.

Round 1 will kick off tonight at 5 p.m. and can be seen on the NFL Network, ABC and ESPN with coverage starting at 3 p.m. The second and third rounds are Friday, beginning at 4 p.m. and rounds four through seven start at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

In addition to watching on TV, be sure to head to the NFL's various social media, NFL.com or Yahoo! Sports to check out the NFL Draft-A-Thon, a virtual fundraiser for COVID-19 relief efforts that will include an appearance by Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin.

Here at Seahawks.com, as well as on the Seahawks app, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, you can take part in our virtual Seahawks Draft Party, which kicks off an hour before the draft each day. Each hour-long party will be hosted by 710 ESPN Seattle's Stacy Rost and KIRO 97.3 FM's Gee Scott, and will feature a number of noteworthy guests including Seahawks legends Matt Hasselbeck and Lofa Tatupu, linebacker K.J. Wright, actor and comedian Joel McHale, and ESPN's Mina Kimes, who claims to be a life-long Seahawks fan despite her traitorous act of being a part of the Rams' preseason broadcast last season.

If you need to do any last-minute prep for the draft, head to Seahawks.com/Draft for highlights from John Schneider and Pete Carroll’s pre-draft press conference, a look at how they’re getting ready for this unique draft, as well as draft previews that break down top prospects, as well as where things stand on the Seahawks' roster, at each position.

If you want to get caught up on what's going on with the rest of the NFC West, check out our NFC West pre-draft roundtable featuring reporters that cover each team, as well as my terrible pandemic beard.

And of course, stay tuned to Seahawks.com and all of our social channels for wall-to-wall coverage during and after every Seahawks pick (or trade). You can also follow me on Twitter (@johnpboyle) for news and the occasional bad pun/unfunny joke.

Social Post Of The Day

Today's social post comes from Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, who reminds everyone to tune in for draft clues on his twitter account, which will definitely tell you exactly who the Seahawks are picking… or maybe not.
