Thursday Practice Report: Nick Vannett Returns As Seahawks Host First Workout In London

The Seahawks departed for London at 8 p.m. PT on Wednesday, arrived in the United Kingdom at 1:30 p.m. BST on Thursday, and were on the practice field just three hours later for a ‘bonus day’ workout ahead of Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders at Wembley Stadium.

"I think the guys were cooking out there,” Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said of Thursday’s London practice following a long flight. "It was a quick practice, but we did a lot of work and everybody was battling like we always do. We just wanted to get our feet on the ground and get going and make sure that we knocked this first day out. We’ll try to keep our guys awake as well for a little bit before they go to sleep tonight. Everything worked out great. Their attitude and spirit about it was perfect.”

Also perfect, or close to it at least, looks to be the health of Carroll’s squad heading into Week 6. With the exception of defensive end Rasheem Green (ankle) and linebacker K.J. Wright (knee), who have each already been ruled out for this weekend’s game, every Seahawks player participated in Thursday’s practice. Tight end Nick Vannett (back), who did not participate in Wednesday’s practice, returned Thursday as a limited participant.

“He’s good, he’s fine,” Carroll said of Vannett. "He practiced today."

Four other Seahawks — receiver Doug Baldwin (knee), quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring), guard Ethan Pocic (ankle), and receiver David Moore (rib) — were full participants for a second day in a row.
