The Seahawks waived safety Jerrick Reed II, making room on the roster for receiver Rashid Shaheed, who was acquired in a trade with New Orleans on Tuesday.

Additionally, receiver Mac Dalena was signed to the practice squad.

Reed, a sixth-round pick in 2023, was previously on the practice squad, then signed to the 53-man roster ahead of Seattle's Week 9 game against Arizona. Should he clear waivers, Reed would be eligible to return to Seattle's practice squad.

Shaheed, who was acquired in a trade Tuesday, with Seattle sending fourth and fifth-round picks to the Saints, arrived at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on Wednesday morning to join his new team.

Dalena, an undrafted rookie out of Fresno State, initially signed with Kansas City this spring, then was waived prior to the start of the season. Dalena was a first-team All-Mountain West selection as a senior, leading the team with 64 catches for 1,065 yards and eight touchdowns.
