Seahawks Visit Sap Sap Lao Deli & Cafe For AANHPI Month

Seahawks visited Sap Sap Lao Deli & Cafe for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander month.

Last month, the Seahawks visited Sap Sap Lao Deli & Cafe, which serves authentic Lao cuisine, for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander month. The Seahawks, along with Seahawks Legend Lofa Tatupu, made the trip for Happy Hour with the Hawks, a program that highlights small and minority-owned restaurants in the Seattle area. Vixai Nackviseth, the owner and chef of Sap Sap, gave insight into the business and the Happy Hour with the Hawks experience.

Tell us what inspired you to start your business.

"We wanted to share our Lao food and we love to cook at home so that's what inspired to start the restaurant."

What are some of the challenges or hurdles you had to overcome?

"The challenge was having patrons enjoy the food and being tucked in the alley we had no visibility."

What do you enjoy most about being a small business?

"Being able to see people smile and enjoy our food keeps us going."

What does it mean to your business to be amplifies by the Seahawks?

"We are excited that the Seahawks were able to come to Sap Sap Lao Deli & Cafe with the help of Intentionalist. This will help us gain more support from the community."

Seahawks players and staff visited the Seattle Mariners' ballpark, T-Mobile Park, and took the field for batting practice on Monday, May 19, 2025.
