The Seahawks and the Intentionalist, an online marketplace for small businesses and diverse local communities, partner with different minority small businesses throughout the Seattle area and host Happy Hour with the Hawks where they visit restaurants and offer food and drink specials. We interviewed some of the restaurants that have partnered with the Seahawks through the program this season.

Pasifika

What does it mean to your business to be amplified by the Seahawks?

"It allows our community and Pasifika professional athletes to have a platform and a sense of pride. The Seahawks' star power gives us a lot of exposure and also provides an example for the young Pasifika athletic community that there is support for them."

What do you enjoy most about being a small business?

"The ability to personable, hands on, and establish strong partnerships with our network and community."

My Little Restaurant

Tell us what inspired you to start your business.

"My family and my passion for cooking inspired me to launch My Little Restaurant in October 2019. I co-founded and managed a Mexican establishment inside of a gas station just down the street in 2012, and I always wanted to live the American Enterprise dream of owning a restaurant myself someday."

What do you enjoy most about being a small business?

"I wake up every morning knowing that I'm going to make someone's day with a warm meal. I love serving my customers directly, whether they live in the area or or they're traveling from afar. Real Mexican food, made fresh every day."

Los Hernandez Tamales

What do you enjoy most about being a small business?

"What I enjoy the most is the customer interactions! Our customers come from all over and they are always happy to see us still here after 35 years of business."

What are some of the challenges or hurdles you had to overcome?

"The challenges are mostly financial, keeping up with cost of supplies through the increases and labor and still keeping the cost down for the consumer. Covid-19 really challenged all the food industry that we are all in some way still dealing with."
