The Seahawks signed Malik Flowers, an undrafted rookie out of the University of Montana, giving the team added depth at receiver heading into the preseason finale at Green Bay.

Defensive end DaMarcus Mitchell, who signed with the team on Sunday, was waived to make room on the 90-man roster.

Flowers, who initially signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in May, was a standout receiver and returner at Montana, earning second-team FCS All-American honors as a returner three times, including last year when he gained 615 yards on 20 returns, including a pair of touchdowns. Flowers tied the NCAA Division I (FBS and FCS) record with seven career kick return touchdowns. Two of the other players to accomplish that feat also played for the Seahawks: Rashaad Penny, who had seven kick return touchdowns at San Diego State, and C.J. Spiller, who had seven at Clemson.

As a receiver, the 6-foot, 195-pound Flowers had 31 receptions for 460 yards and two touchdowns last season, and in 2021 he caught 14 passes for 210 yards and two scores.
