The Seahawks signed rookie running back Anthony Tyus on Tuesday. Rookie running back Donovan Kaufman, who signed with the team last week, was waived to make room on the 90-man roster.

The 6-1, 226-pound Tyus, who went undrafted out of Ohio University, signed with the Lions after the draft, then was waived by Detroit last month. Tyus led the Bobcats with 1,215 rushing yards and nine touchdowns last season, and added 16 receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns, helping him earn All-MAC second-team honors.

Before transferring to Ohio, Tyus played at Northwestern where he rushed for 504 yards and two touchdowns over three seasons.
