SAN JOSE, Calif.—Nick Emmanwori is on track to play in Super Bowl LX despite injuring his ankle in Wednesday's practice.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Thursday that the rookie safety would go through Thursday's walkthrough and is expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Patriots after sustaining a low ankle sprain a day earlier.

"He rolled his ankle yesterday, and he's got a low ankle sprain," Macdonald said. "He's going to do the walkthrough today, not sure how extensive, if at all, he's going to practice. But he's confident, we've got a great plan, fully expect him to play… He's doing great and moving around. We've just got to make sure we handle it the right way. We're probably going to be overly careful and over cautious at this point to make sure we're rolling going into the weekend."

Speaking to the media after his head coach, Emmanwori reiterated that he expects to be ready to go on Sunday.

"It was just towards the end of practice, I just rolled my ankle," Emmanwori said. "It kind of caught me off guard, the practice wasn't anything crazy, we weren't going hard out there, but I just rolled it. I'll be good to go for Sunday, so I'm looking forward to that."

Emmanwori, a second-round pick out of South Carolina who possesses a rare combination of size, speed and athletic ability, has emerged as a key piece of the NFL’s best defense, providing a level of versatility and playmaking ability that allowed the Seahawks to play the highest rate of nickel defense in the NFL this season while at the same time holding opponent's to a league-low 3.7 yards-per-carry average.

The Seahawks held their first practice of the week on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 as they prepare for Sunday's matchup vs. the Patriots.
