The Seahawks activated receiver Dareke Young from injured reserve ahead of Thursday night's game against the Rams, clearing the way for Young to return from the quadricep injury that has caused him to miss the past eight games.

No corresponding move was needed, as the Seahawks opened a roster spot earlier this week by waiving safety D'Anthony Bell, who has since re-signed to the practice squad.

Young, who has been one of Seattle's core special teams players since arriving as a 2022 seventh-round pick, also has two catches for 48 yards this season.

Additionally, the Seahawks elevated running back Cam Akers and tackle Amari Kight from the practice squad.

If he plays Thursday, Akers will be making his Seahawks debut against the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2020 draft. Akers spent three-plus seasons with the Rams, winning a Super Bowl after the 2021 season, then later played for the Vikings, Texans and Vikings again, most recently appearing in five games with Minnesota earlier this year.

Kight, who signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted rookie out of UCF this spring, was also elevated for Seattle's Week 4 win in Arizona, playing two snaps on offense and six on special teams. Kight will give the Seahawks added tackle depth with usual swing tackle Josh Jones expected to start at left tackle in place of an injured Charles Cross.
