Aloha, 12s. John Boyle and Jon Ryder are both on island time, which makes this the perfect opportunity to introduce myself. Nathan Rauschenberg is the name, rounding up Seahawks news is my game.
Let's take a look at what is going on in the world of the Seahawks this Valentine's Day.
We Are Family
K.J. Wright is putting his knowledge to the test on a celebrity edition of the popular game show, Family Feud. Via K.J.’s Instagram Story:
No word on the air date, but we'll definitely keep you posted.Â
Changes
If you're looking for a last-minute gift idea, Justin Bieber's "Changes" Tour comes to CenturyLink Field on Thursday, May 14, and tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Oh, and his album is out, too.
More Changes?
Speaking of changes, the Seahawks have 32 free agents this offseason, which means things are certainly going to look different in the locker room in 2020. But who stays and who moves on? The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar and Aaron Fentress have their predictions.
For The Love Of The Game
As MLB teams begin reporting for Spring Training in Arizona and Florida, Jayson Jenks of The Athletic has a story on Russell Wilson showing off his baseball skills in front of a former big-league scout. The condensed version: "The kid's a winner."
He's Like a Box Of Chocolates
NBC San Diego sports anchor Darnay Tripp recently shared some gold from running back (future fullback?) Marshawn Lynch during a 2019 Holiday Bowl media scrum.
You never know what you're going to get with Marshawn--one of the many reasons he is loved by many.
Happy Anniversary
Valentine's Day hasn't been the most eventful of dates on the calendar for the Seahawks, but here's a look at some things that have happened on February 14:
- 1997 - Seahawks make first strike in free agency signing Steelers Pro Bowl linebacker Chad Brown. Brown's signing is followed two days later with that of Pittsburgh teammate cornerback Willie Williams.
- 1999 - Sign unrestricted free agent WR Sean Dawkins.
- 2008 - Bill Lazor named Seattle's QB coach.
- 2012 - Added Keith Carter (quality control/offense) and former Seahawks safety Marquand Manuel (special teams assistant) to the coaching staff.
How Sweet
Give an extra point to Seahawks kicker Jason Myers, who woke up early to wish his wife Katie a Happy Valentine's Day. He even chose a photo from CenturyLink Field. Company Man!
Miss You Already
We'll be closed on Monday in observance of President's Day, so check back Tuesday for a round-up of the three-day break. Have a great Valentine's Day and enjoy your weekend. Go Hawks!
