round-up

The Seahawks elevated cornerback Shaquill Griffin and defensive tackle Quinton Bohanna from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's season opener against the 49ers.

Griffin, who signed with the Seahawks during the offseason, gives the Seahawks some added experienced depth at cornerback, having appeared in 106 games with 82 starts over his eight-year NFL career. A 2017 third-round pick, Griffin spent his first four seasons in Seattle as a starting cornerback before leaving in free agency. After spending time with the Jaguars, Texans, Panthers and Vikings, Griffin returned to the Seahawks as a free agent. Griffin made the Seahawks' initial 53-man roster, then was released a day later before being quickly re-signed to the practice squad.

Bohanna, a sixth-round pick of the Cowboys, first joined the Seahawks as a member of the practice squad last September, and appeared in one game. Previously he appeared in 34 games with 13 starts over three seasons with Dallas, Detroit and Tennessee. Bohanna, who had a strong camp and preseason, gives the Seahawks some needed interior line depth behind starters Jarran Reed and Byron Murphy II.
