The Seahawks earned an emphatic road victory coming off of their bye week, beating the Commanders 38-14 behind huge games by Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and another standout performance by the defense.

That rating ranks second in the league, just behind Drake Maye (Lamar Jackson would be ahead of both but does not have enough pass attempts to qualify), and if he can keep it up, it would top Russell Wilson's franchise-best mark of 110.1 set in 2015.

Receiving yards for Jaxon Smith-Njigba on eight catches, bringing his league-leading total up to 948 yards through eight games. That total makes Smith-Njigba one of two players, along with Isaac Bruce, with at least 900 yards in the first eight games of a season at age 23 or younger. He also became the fifth player in the Super Bowl era with at least 75 yards in each of his first eight games of a season, joining Adam Thielen, Antonio Brown, Michael Irvin and Dwight Clark. Smith-Njigba also set a franchise record with his fourth consecutive 100-yard game, and matched Steve Largent's record for 100-yard games in a season with six. Smith-Njigba is also up to 221 career receptions, passing DK Metcalf for the most receptions in franchise history through a player's first three seasons.

Receiver Cody White recorded his first career touchdown, as did rookie tight end Elijah Arroyo, while safety Ty Okada had his first career interception, and nose tackle Brandon Pili had his first career forced fumble, knocking a ball loose on special teams to create a turnover that set up Arroyo's touchdown. Rookie linebacker Connor O'Toole recovered the fumble, also a career-first for him.
