Featuring postgame quotes from the following:

Head Coach Mike Macdonald

All right, man, that was a great football game. You've got to give the Colts a lot of credit. They had a great game plan; executed it well. I'll tell you what, our guys just fought tooth and nail to the absolute end and wins in this league come in all different shapes and sizes and great teams figure out a way to win games. That's what we're trying to be, so I'm proud of our effort. Man, we are mentally tough. We stuck together. There is plenty we want to work on and improve, but the way we closed that game out was just phenomenal just in terms of the fight. J-Myers' (Jason Myers) six field goals, having each other's backs, great kickoff return there at the end, Coby (Bryant) with the pick. I mean, just a great effort. Great effort. There are things that we are going to learn from out of this game, red zone, time of possession, field position, defensively being able to adjust as the game goes on, which I thought we did a great job of, but that's going to happen. Games will be like this coming down the stretch. So you've got to learn, figure out ways to win them, so I'm proud that we did.

You mentioned this already, but six for six with a 56-yarder that went in. What can you say about that?

Yeah, just talk about picking each other up, just being there when we need him, being ready, steady. I think our field goal operation and protection was really good, too. But, yeah, it was just six field goals. It's not what you want, but when needed, it's great to have them.

Mike, where were you on the time that you wanted to start using your timeouts on defense? When the ball got where?

Well, it's kind of a function of like, 'Hey, as this kind of declares as the last possession, even though they still had three timeouts, you're trying to figure out a way if it doesn't go your way you have a chance to come back and win it.' Brian Eayrs did a phenomenal job managing it and he was really decisive and I gave him a lot of the credit. He got a game ball in the locker room because he really put us in position to go still have a chance to win the game.

On Blake Grupe's final made FG…

That was actually deeper than we anticipated, so (he) made a heck of a kick. We thought it was beyond his line but he made a tremendous kick.

Was there something they did? Obviously here is a guy you're facing, 44 year old quarterback (Philip Rivers), hasn't played in five years. Maybe sort of human nature, perhaps a look ahead? Seem like the team came out a little lethargic today, especially in the first half.

No, we do our process and we go attack it, let's go. Now, they had a really good game plan in terms of how they were operating and you've got to take your hat off to Phil (Philip Rivers). Just did a great job managing the game. Didn't put the ball in jeopardy until he had to. We could have probably forced more (tough) situations but they did a good job. So it is what it is. They're a good football team.

Jalen Sundell back in the starting lineup at center today. What went into that decision?

Yeah, first of all, Olu(Oluwatimi) did a phenomenal job filling in for him. Felt like Jalen (Sundell) was a starter before and he was healthy and ready to go and had a great week of practice, so we went with Jalen.

What do you make of the offense struggling in the first half like it did?

Yeah, we've got to improve, be better, start faster. We'll look at our openers here. Couple games where our openers weren't hitting as well as we want. We'll look at it. But we want to start fast. The field position in the first half, we were in tough situations. Like the field was definitely tilted against us. When we're in those situations we've got to get out of those things. And when we did, then we have a big kick return there at some point, and so it flipped again. We've got to improve in that area.

They're a pretty good run defense overall. What did you see from your inability to get going there today?

When you don't have the ball it's hard to stick (to) and find a bunch of different runs to get to. That's the first thing. We have to be more effective early so we can get down to our game plan and find some ways to run it. We got to start faster, block it better, run it better, game plan it better, the whole thing.

How good was Sam (Darnold) the last drive? Did you feel comfortable with Jason (Myers) from 56 (yards) there?

First, Sam (Darnold) did a great job. The first play was awesome and then they're going to be pretty aggressive there once you're at the line. He was decisive getting the ball on the sideline and I thought Klint (Kubiak) did a good job calling it. That's stuff we work on all the time. Sam, he's been tremendous for us in two-minute this year. We would've liked to get the first down. Every yard matters in some of those field goal things, so we were trying to move it forward. But obviously you don't want to go backwards once you're inside range.

Holding a back like (Jonathan) Taylor to under 100 yards, four yards a carry, what did you think of the run defense?

I'll tell you what, our front I thought really battled. Playing a lot of those runs in split safety, that's really what we do. They did a great job. Now, it was great to have Rylie (Mills) go out there and have his first game experience and he's going to learn from some of those things about what it's like. Got to give him a lot of credit. He is out there, he's battling, and hadn't done it in a long time. So it was great to have him.

For (Rashid) Shaheed to be a factor on the last drive, how important was that?

Incredibly important. (If we) don't move the ball we're going to lose the game. You've got to do it in a hurry. You have no timeouts and so you've got get the ball down the field.

Once you saw how Rivers was throwing it, how did you change in coverage or pressure?

Well, he threw it effectively when he needed to. It became clear that the offense they had been running was taking a pretty dramatic shift so we had to do it as well. But you can only run the things you've been repping. You can't just invent defense. We had a couple adjustments in terms of some coverage structures that we haven't repped all week and the guys did a great job with that. But, it probably altered how we called some of the things, some of the categories, how we game plan when we're going to call certain coverage in certain situations. That's pretty much par for the course; kind of doing that every game.

How much did it make you play tighter on the receivers knowing the ball wasn't going down the field?

I wouldn't say it altered like the matchiness of our calls. I wouldn't say that.

You mentioned earlier wins come in all shapes and sizes. You've had a lot of wins this year by pretty big margins. Is this good for the guys to have?

Yeah, that's a great point. I think it is. It's great to win by multiple scores and put games away in the fourth quarter. We'll take those every time. But this is the NFL and these teams are really, really good. I'm just proud that we fought and found a way to win this tight game. This is what it's going to be like from here on out.

Felt like in the first three quarters that they were able to consistently get the extra rusher after Sam and get him off his spot. How did you see that change in the fourth quarter with the way the pass protection was holding up?

Well, we blew one pass protection that we repped all week and just had an absolute mental error. I thought our protection plan was good. I think they had another free runner on a four-strong. Other than that, I just felt like we probably needed more ways to get the ball out in those situations. We just stuck to it and kept playing. I wouldn't say they had an extra runner all game. It was just a couple plays.

Abe (Lucas) left and came back. He's okay?

Yeah, to my knowledge he's okay.

Same question with Derick (Hall), he's all right?

Yeah.

QB Sam Darnold

All right, never a doubt, right? No, it was, again, I think for us we just got start faster as an offense, finish in the red zone. I feel like it's becoming a theme the next few weeks, and we got get it figured out. I feel like our defense is playing really, really good football. But, yeah next we just got step it up a little bit as an offense. You know, that starts with me. But we just got to play better. Like I said, we got to be better on third downs, better in the red zone, and we will be better. We'll look at the tape and get better. It's a quick turnaround for Thursday night against L.A. that we'll be ready for.

Does it show you something there though that twice you guys need to go down and score late in the game and were able to do so both times?

It's great to be able to get in these situations where you got to have a two-minute drive or late drive to put us in this position to be able to win the game and we get it done. Those are the situations that we practice throughout the week. It's good to have those drives when we need it.

What did you feel like started working a little better in the second half though? Obviously you got it going a little more.

I think it was great. First of all great adjustments by our coaches, by us as players being able to take those adjustments and run with it and execute it. And I think that was it.

What did you see in the first half in the way they -- seemed like they were able to successfully get rushers back into the pocket and force you to move up quite a bit early on. And then as the game progressed, second half, seemed like that stopped for the most part.

Yeah.

What did you see them effectively doing in terms of creating problems for you guys with your pass protection calls?

I thought they did some really good stuff defensively. Again, we just got watch the tape and grow from it, get better that way. I think, again, the other thing, too, some of the protection stuff, I think that was on me a lot of times just holding on to the football. Thought I could have got the ball out a couple times early in the first half.

What did you think of having Jalen back at center and how that worked after being without him for a month or so?

It was great. I think obviously Olu did a really good job when he was in there. Having Jalen back and just for him to be able to get a really good week of practice in, and I felt like we didn't miss a beat with the way that he was able to get in there and do his job today.

You mentioned about the slow starts in the first half the last three games.

Yep.

Is there anything you can pinpoint, a thing or two? I mean, you mentioned some things, but that you look back in hindsight and say, we could have done this better?

I think it's just about going out there and executing. It sounds cliche but it's true. We got to do a better of all 11 doing our job, and again, like I said, that starts with me.

You obviously would rather Jason Myers doesn't have to kick a bunch of field goals, but what can you say about him? Six field goals, 56-yarder.

Yeah, J-My has been incredible all year, you know, again, like I keep saying, hopefully we don't need to use him as much as we are. Hopefully they're PATs and not field goals, but he's been doing great job for us.

Couple moments during the final drive, is that the product of just having the time with Rashid Shaheed that you had since he arrived?

For sure. I think having 'Shid and him being able to getting on the same page with certain things and being ready to go when his number is called, that's been a theme since he got here. Whether it's in the punt return game, kick return game, or as a receiver. He's been doing great job for us.

From what you saw out there on the field, why do you think the run game struggled to find some footing today?

Say that first part again.

From what you saw out there and feeling it on the field, what do you think led to the run game struggles today?

First of all that's a great defense. They did a really good job. Again, we got watch the tape and kind of see what they did or how they affected us in the run game and go from there.

Was Shaheed the primary on the last drive there?

On which one?

Well, the bigger one, the first one.

When I threw him the ball it was a play that we've been practicing for a long time. It was just coverage kind of dictated that I should have thrown the ball and I did and it was a big play. He runs a really good route, got open, and we kind of took are of the rest there.

Cooper talked about JSN, the way he competed in this game, that maybe early on that ball finding him and making some big plays. What did you see out of Jaxon today?

Yeah, he's a competitor. He's one of those guys that he's not going to shut down or anything when he doesn't get the ball. He knows that when his number is called he's going step up and make a big play. Again, he's not going to try to force it or anything. It's very natural with him and he knows the ball is going to find him eventually when we need it the most. I felt like he stepped up in a really big way today just continuing to be a really good leader for this team and really good receiver.

You still control your fate for the final games. How valuable is that this time of the year?

It's huge. We know what these games, these upcoming games mean for us as a team. We're just going continue to do our process and go from there, but with the understanding that this does mean a lot.

I know you said you've gone through this a lot with the two-minute drills, but as Mike is calling the timeouts, so you know there might not be time on the clock there, what are you thinking there before that?

When Indy was kind of going on their second to last drive there it was just understanding that a field goal puts them up, and we might be in a position to where we need to get a couple big plays to put us in field goal position. Like I mentioned before, 'Shid did a really good job in the kick return and getting north and getting those yards that were crucial. Then the two plays that he made as a receiver, too, were important as well. So he's been doing great job for us. That was what was going through my head at that point.

Were you surprised? They were barely across midfield when they started using their timeouts? Did that surprise you?

When who started?

When Indianapolis just got across? Midfield and started using the defensive timeouts?

It's just the situational stuff that we practice that obviously Coach Mike and our entire staff, they all practice it so much, they talk about all these situations so much so we're always ready for that.

Is there an advantage to one or the other where you have 50 seconds but no timeouts or say like 30 seconds but you have two or three timeouts?

I think in that position I think we handled it perfectly because you would rather have 50 seconds with no timeouts than 20, 15 or 20 seconds and all three timeouts or maybe two or one timeout. So I thought we handled that situation perfectly.

WR Cooper Kupp

On the feeling of the offense when the 60 yarder was good

That's tough. That's a group that battled all game long. I thought they had a great plan. To get into that situation, I thought as good as our defense did for us to be in that position, even there to hold them to having to kick a 60-yarder to go up, is incredible. You don't want to say that you want the opportunity to have to go out there again, but to have the opportunity to put something out there, to be able to go win the game. I think there is those battling feelings. I think our guys have that mentality, and that's what you want. You don't want guys fearful of that moment. You saw Sam and Rashid doing an unbelievable job, connecting on a few plays, getting us down there and J-Mey was clutch as always, puts it through.

On whether there are common issues that are leading to the offense getting off to a slow start in the first half for the last few games

There is a mix of things. For one, you got to have respect for defenses and the coaches and the time that is put in to prepare for our offense and what we present. On the other hand, I think there is stuff on our end that is just not dialed in all the way. There are details that need to get fixed. I know two plays just off the top of my head in that first half that if we had just executed it how we were supposed to, if we just do the things that we're supposed to, they are touchdown plays. We are going to see it on tape and be sick to our stomachs because we are doing things that are completely in our control. It's not like we're asking anyone to do anything outside of what their abilities are, it's just doing what you're supposed to do. There are touchdowns out there. There are huge plays out there, and we just weren't able to get it done. Things like that come back to bite you, and we've been able to escape and get out of a lot of those situations because our defense has bailed us out. As an offense, we have to be able to find ways to be able to limit those things and make those big plays come to life.

On whether having Jason Myers on the team is a luxury

It is 100 percent a luxury and he has bailed us out so much this year. He's an unbelievable kicker, he's an unbelievable person. Just love being around J-Mey and his process is just awesome. Seeing how he goes about his day to day work. But, yes, I'm campaigning for more PATs for J-Mey.

On whether the Colts did something to stop the running game in the first half

I think they have some good guys over there, they are competing hard. I do think it does come back to us. We have to be better. As good as those guys are over there, you play in the NFL, and they're the best in the world. We gotta be better than that. That's on all of us. We all have a hand in that pot, and we've got to do a better job of getting the job done and being able to count on being able to hand the ball off and get our running backs loose to the second and third levels. Yeah, unacceptable, and I'm sure we have a lot of stuff to clean up in that regard.

On what is happening in the red zone

This week, I think they did some good stuff there. They went corners over, get into a two mask, play a zone coverage, and they hadn't shown it yet. At the end of the day, it comes down to me and Sam being on the same page on one of those plays, and say hey we can fight through that and find a way to make it happen. This is why I keep saying it's the details. It's not exactly what the play call says, but it's completely within the bounds of what is appropriate to expect from us, to be able to execute those things and make them come to life and get us to a place where it might be a touchdown, it might be a first down, and we have another opportunity to get into the end zone. And we 100 percent need to dial in our stuff in the red zone. The margins get that much thinner, they get much smaller when you get down there, and we got to do a better job."

On Jaxon Smith-Njigba today

Man, he competed. I have to watch the film, but I think he competed the best that he has all year, in the midst of not getting a lot of opportunities, not getting a whole lot of stuff coming his way that he has been for the course of the season. But, late in that game, we're running an inside run, and they bring a safety, internal pressure, and he's on it. He knows that he has to be able to come down and get that nickel in the run game. Things like that are what we need. That's what we need from our offense; guys that are going to stay engaged and know that it doesn't matter when you're number's called. The expectation is that you are ready no matter what, because we go one play to the next, and your job is to execute. Just execute. Do your job. Do your job, and one of these times the ball is going to be coming your way and your job is to then execute. Catch it, and do something fun with it. I think he did a great job of that today.

Thank you guys.

K Jason Myers

On whether this is as good of a game as he's had

Yeah. I mean, I think I said after the game with Jen, the locker room we have, it's so fun on Sundays with these guys. Everybody is so close in this locker room, so just fighting until the end. The NFL is hard. Not every game is going to be a blowout. They're going to be tight. Just fighting with these guys is awesome.

On what he was thinking on Seattle's final drive

Blake hit a great ball there on the 60. Sam and the offense, they did a great job. Rashid started out with a great return, and they just went to work.

On the faith he has on the offense getting him into field goal range

Always, for sure. Once we get the ball back, whether it is end of half, end of game, we still need to just get into our routine on the sideline and get ready for our opportunity.

On what nerves, if any, he feels on a big kick

This is cliché, but you're just trying to stay in your routine. I work hard on that in the offseason. I work weekly with a guy, back home. You're trying to make every kick the same, whether it is a PAT in the first quarter or a game winner. You're sticking to the routine and just trusting that and trusting all the work you've done and the preparation. Just attack the ball, for sure.

On whether 56 yards was his limit today

It was kind of swirly, it was kind of going that way early in the game, and then died a little bit. The 52 I hit before half I hit good and I saw the distance on that. Just put a good contact on it. Stoll had a great snap, the rhythm was perfect, so it was awesome.

On whether the magnitude of the moment enters his mind

You're trying to make every kick the same. You just gotta trust that, trust the work and preparation you've put in and just stick to that. If you try to make it bigger than it is, then when things kind of speed up. I just try to stick to my routine, hit my cues, and attack the ball.

On what he felt when he kicked the game winner

I knew I hit it well. It was a little pull slice there, but once it got up I knew I hit a really strong ball.

On whether he can make the ball move one way or another on a field goal try

No, you pick a target. You kind of commit to what you think the wind is doing, pick a target. You're not trying to move the ball left or right, on a kickoff you are, but field goals you just trying to pick a target and just hit your target.

On what if feels like to kick a game winner

It's amazing. The support here, everyone here knows what Lumen is like. My family is here, my girls are here. I just want to celebrate with them.

S Coby Bryant

On his interception

I guess I'd say I'm living right, but obviously, Spoon (Devon Witherspoon) made a great play as well by tipping the ball. All I had to do was focus and catch it. Coach (Jeff) Howard literally said, 'Once the ball is in the air, just relax and catch the ball.' So, that's what I did.

On what the defense expected from Philip Rivers

He actually played pretty well. They got the ball out fast we knew that, screens, and we knew about the run game as well. So, we've got to respect everything and just play our ball.

On going into the games without knowing who would play quarterback for the Colts

It definitely changes, but at the end of the day, when a ball of this ball is in the air, it has to be ours. That's the mindset that we have. And, like I said, we respect whoever's out there.

LB Ernest Jones IV

On the close win

For me, I never felt threatened, I never felt like we were going to lose the game, just the situation, stuff was happening that we weren't able to control. But we knew if we gave J-My (Jason Myers) a chance to give us a chance, and we got that, then the defense has got to go stop the run.

On halftime adjustments

Yeah, it shifted big time. When they came out, of course, we didn't know what they were going to do. We didn't know what Philip (Rivers) had. So, we were just out there trying to play our style, play our game. We noticed that there were some things that they were purposely trying to do to just get us out of our element. So, we just went in at halftime, made a few smaller tweaks, realized what type of game we were in, and we were able to come out and stop them.

On stopping Jonathan Taylor

That was big. We knew coming in they were going to try to lean on his arm, the whole game. We knew they were going to try to use him a bunch. So, we knew coming in to just make sure we stop him. If anything, all 11 heads to the ball, and let's hit him hard.

On whether this game was a look ahead to Thursday night against the Rams

To be honest, we don't even operate like that. We were so focused on whoever it was that we had to play, we couldn't even think about Thursday. Now that we got the win, all focus goes to them. But for us, if you get caught in those NFL stories and you don't pay attention to what these guys got, then you're losing the game, so we don't want that.

CB Riq Woolen

On celebrating Coby Bryant's interception

We celebrated a lot. One, it's a turnover, but at the end of the game? It's like a walk-off hitter in a baseball game. It's like a grand slam. It just sealed the game. It is a testament to how close we are in the work we put in.

On what to expect from Philip Rivers

I played with him on Madden when I was younger, so I knew what to expect a little bit. We knew it was a short week. We've seen a couple of clips and stuff like that, but other than that, we knew we had to knock out the run coming in because they had Philip. We also knew that whenever we had our chances in the pass game, we had to take advantage."

On reading Phillip Rivers

We just take it one play at a time. A team like that, with a top rush, you just have to be disciplined. Throughout the game, we just stayed disciplined, and it showed.

WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba

On Jason Myers

He came through, and we appreciate that. As an offense, trying to be elite, we have to score in the red zone. That's the name of the game and that's how we're going to win so we have to lock in. We've got a short week [so] we got to lock in and figure out what we need to do better.

On Rashid Shaheed's performance, especially on the last drive

Hell yeah, hell yeah. [Shaheed] came in clutch, that's what we expect for him to get open, and he does that. He runs great routes and he's somebody we rely on and we can depend on him, so it's awesome.

On what the offense needs to work on before the Rams game on Thursday

We just need to get together and understand the gameplan and execute at the end of the day. And I'll leave it at that.

On being over 100 yards again and continuing to perform at a high level

It means a lot. Taking care of my body and making sure I'm here for my teammates, that's what I want to do. Honestly, I could care less about any stat right now. I just want to win.

CB Devon Witherspoon

On what he saw on Coby Bryant's pick

The same thing we've seen on tape all week. They ran the same play that we saw on tape, and we just played that play.

On getting the final stop

It felt good. They gave us a battle all game. It was a tough game. They're a great team. They had a great scheme for us coming into the game. It was just a hard-fought battle. It was good.

On getting the stop in front of the home crowd

It feels amazing. You know everything the 12s give us. In the past, we weren't giving them what we should have been. Now we're doing what we're supposed to do at home, and it just feels good to see them show the love and appreciation that we do.

On playing Philip Rivers

Same thing as any other week. It's just another game to us. We don't care who it is.

WR Rashid Shaheed

On the importance of the last drive for the team and for him personally

It was huge. I feel like that's how we wanted to end the game, of course with a win. I feel like we executed at a high level and that's how we were able to drive down and get in position for a game-winning field goal.

On his contributions on offense and if he feels like this has been coming

Yeah, I knew my opportunities were going to come. I know my role in the offense. I feel like as long as I continue to do my job, obviously the opportunities will continue to come. And obviously my relationship with [Offensive Coordinator Klint] Kubiak is continuing to grow, and it's been a good feeling.

On the development of him and Cooper Kupp in the offense and how it can help the offense improve

We just have to continue to work, continue to expand. As long as we play the way that we know that we can play, the offense will go as we go. If we don't come out with the right mindset, then the offense can be kind of stagnant.

On Klint Kubiak calling the offense together and showing emotion and what that does for the offense

It fires us up because he doesn't say much. He's kind of cool, calm and collected. When he has those types of moments, you listen and you kind of lock in. We trust him and he trusts us.

LB Uchenna Nwosu

On Philip Rivers

I know Philip (Rivers) very well. He's a great player. He's been a great player in this league for a long time. He studies the game and trains in the offseason. His body might not be the same, but his mind definitely was, and it showed today."

On what was the biggest change they made at halftime

Shoot, our mentality. We came in at halftime talking about what type of game this was and what type of team we want to be. We made up our minds on how we want to go out there in the second half and perform. We knew the first half wasn't up to our standards. So as men, we made up our mind and went out there and executed.

On what sparked the turn in the energy in the fourth quarter

The 12s, they were behind us. They cheered for us the whole game. They stayed the whole game. They were in it. They gave us juice. They gave us momentum. Once they got them behind us and got them going, it was a wrap.

G Grey Zabel

On Rashid Shaheed's contribution to the game

He's the man. What an unbelievable playmaker, great teammate, too. It's one of those deals when he's on the field, he's got the big play mentality, and it's super fun to have him on our squad.

On momentum going into Thursday

It gives us a lot of momentum. It's obviously a lot easier to celebrate a tough win than it is to try to come into the locker room and pick our spirits up after a loss. I'm glad we have Jason Myers on our squad, and I think he had six field goals today. He's doing an unbelievable job for us, obviously we want him kicking PATs after we score in the red zone, but at the end of the day, a win is a win.

On the locker room after the first half

There was no flinch, with our coaches and (staff). We just understand it's a softening process. We have to continue to be better. We started picking up a little bit in the second half. A huge shoutout to our defense for keeping us in a game like that. They've been playing unbelievable, and they're just unbelievable guys too. They're picking us up. We're picking them up. It's good stuff. We got a good squad.

TE Eric Saubert

On offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's message before halftime

We were just talking about accountability. That's what it's about, everybody taking pride in what we're doing. We know everybody takes their responsibilities incredibly seriously. There's not much we really have to change. It's just execution. That's all it is.

On if the lack of plays affected the rhythm in the first half

They were doing a good job of controlling the ball. Obviously, when we don't have the ball, it's hard for you to get a rhythm. In the second half, we got the ball a little bit and got to move it. Props to Jason Myers for finishing out those drives for us. He's a beast. He's the money man. Awesome person, too. I love going to work and just picking his brain and talking to him. He's a great teammate. He's a great player on the team.

On the offense in the first half

We were hurting ourselves a little bit with some penalties. We just have to execute better. We trust the process, we trust Klint (Kubiak) and that he's going to get the right looks. The Colts were doing a good job of controlling the ball a little bit. Props to them for that, but in the second half, we made some adjustments and moved a little better. Props to Jason Myers for finishing out those drives.

On the defense staying locked in when the offense gets off to a slow start

That's just kind of the mindset that we have. We've got each others back. Offense has our back, the defense has the offense's back. That's just kind of the mindset that we do. We don't really flinch as a team. The game is played over four quarters. If they start slow or we start slow, we know we're going to make it up in the end.

On playing in front of the home crowd when the defense is rolling

The crowd was huge, especially in the second half. First half, they were great, but the crowd was huge in the second half. It kind of felt like the Colts were a little bit startled and like the pressure was getting to them a little bit. The fans were great.

On if it helps to win close, gritty games like this

It wasn't pretty, but we got the win at the end of the day. [Jason Myers] did a great job coming in and making field goals. We need to watch the film and see what mistakes we made and improve on that.

On what they're thinking on the sidelines before and after the Colts hit their go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter

I feel like everybody was ready for the moment. We practice the situations like this so we feel like everybody is prepared and if everyone does their job, we go down in a two-minute drive and kick the field goal for the win.

On the team having that trust in Jason Myers

[Jason Myers] is consistent. Day in and day out. He always does a great job. He's been himself and he does his job.

On Jason Myers

All hats off to J-My (Jason Myers). When it comes to games like that you need somebody like that on your team to pull out the win. He's that guy, so I appreciate him. Much love to J-My."

On his reaction after the third down stop to force the field goal with a minute left in the game

I feel like at that point, I was like, we got it. We won this game. The defense went in there and did what we were supposed to do by getting the stop and holding them to three. The O (offense) came back out there and completed the drive and got the field goal and we won the game.

On playing against Philip Rivers

I didn't know what to expect, to be honest. Going against him, it was a great challenge. He's a hall of famer. He's done a lot of things in this league. I feel like they played a good game, and he played an okay game. To be sitting down for five years, not doing anything, and being away from football that long is a lot, but we were able to manage and stop him.
