Week 2 Injury Report: Seahawks at 49ers

Details on the Seahawks’ injury situation heading into their Week 2 game against 49ers, including game status designations.

Friday's Injury Report

The Seahawks should be welcoming back two players who missed Monday's opener due to injury, rookie running back Kenneth Walker III and guard Damien Lewis. Neither has a game status listed on Friday's injury report, meaning they are expected to be available.

Defensive end Shelby Harris is also off the final injury report after missing the first two days of the week with a back injury, so he too should be good to go.

The Seahawks have one players listed as doubtful, rookie safety Joey Blount. Blount was not on the injury report prior to Friday, indicating his injury likely occurred in practice late in the week. Nickel corner Justin Coleman is questionable with a calf injury, meaning if he isn't able to go, rookie Coby Bryant would likely take over that role. Also questionable is cornerback Artie Burns, who missed the opener with a groin injury.

For the 49es, the big question will be whether or not All-Pro tight end George Kittle is able to play Sunday. Kittle, who missed the opener with a groin injury, was limited in practice Friday after not practicing the previous two days, and he is listed as questionable.

Thursday's Injury Report

The Seahawks saw two players return to practice Thursday after sitting out the day before, with safety Quandre Diggs (knee) and guard Gabe Jackson (rest) listed as full participants. Cornerback Artie Burns (groin) and defensive end Shelby Harris (back) were sidelined for the second straight day, while two players were limited, cornerback Justin Coleman (calf) and running back Kenneth Walker III (hernia).

Coleman is new to the injury report so his status will be worth monitoring on Friday when game designations come out, while Walker, who was a full participant on Wednesday, is trying to get back after missing the opener.

For the 49ers, All-Pro tight end George Kittle was held out for the second straight day with a groin injury that kept him out of San Francisco's opener.

Wednesday's Injury Report

The Seahawks have a quick turnaround coming off a Monday night game, and were back on the field Wednesday less than 48 hours after their season-opening win over Denver.

And on a positive note for a couple of players who missed the opener due to injury, running back Kenneth Walker III (hernia) and left guard Damien Lewis (ankle/knee) were both full participants. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said both players have a good shot of returning for Sunday's game at San Francisco so long as they get through the week OK.

The Seahawks had five players sit out practice, four due to injury, while veteran guard Gabe Jackson got a rest day. Jamal Adams was out as expected with what Carroll has described as a serious knee injury, while cornerback Artie Burns, who missed Monday's game, remains sidelined with a groin injury. Three other players other players, defensive end Shelby Harris (back), safety Quandre Diggs (knee), also sat out Wednesday's practice, though it's worth noting that they both finished the game and are likely just resting minor injuries on a short week.

Most notably on San Francisco's injury report, All-Pro tight end George Kittle was listed as a non-participant after missing Sunday's opener with a groin injury.
