Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's happening today – Wednesday, July 21 – for your Seattle Seahawks.

Tyler Lockett Joins NFL Network's 'Good Morning Football'

After six seasons with steady improvement to his current Pro Bowl level, Tyler Lockett enters Year 7 with even more to prove.

He's coming off his best season, where he totaled a career-high 100 receptions and 10 touchdowns. Lockett was rewarded with a long-term extension in April, so his future will remain in Seattle. As he moves into the veteran role on the team with young receivers like DK Metcalf and D'Wayne Eskridge around him, Lockett is ready to lead the way.

Lockett appeared on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" on Tuesday for an interview ahead of training camp. In the interview, Lockett discussed his contract extension, some special work he's doing in the community and his relationship with DK Metcalf. The crew also talked to Lockett about what it was like breaking all his father's receiving records at Kansas State.

You can watch the full interview below, but here are some of the highlights:

On why he wanted to sign a contract extension before hitting the open market:

"It's just a blessing that Seattle even wanted to keep me for four more years. When you get close to 30, a lot of people start considering you as old. The fact that they still believe in me, having seen the results that I do each and every day, it just says a lot -- especially being able to be on one team. For them to say that they wanted me for four years, that spoke a lot of volumes to me. Still got the same head coach, still got the same GM, still got a lot of the same coaches that I've been a part of -- not too many people can say that."

"It's something that's very important. I got to start this a couple years ago with K.J. Wright. Being able to have a chance to talk to kids about the importance of relationships, and not only that but healthy relationships. That's something each and every one of us would've done better had we known what we could've done to make them better -- being able to learn how to love in a proper way, how to forgive in a proper way, just being able to really be that leader and a person who can encourage every person. When we're talking about middle school kids, this is when they're trying to learn their identity, they're trying to figure out who they are, trying to see the jocks from the nerds, from the geeks and from other stuff. If we can remove all these labels and teach people how to love people and how to be there for one another, we can really have a better society."

On his chemistry with DK Metcalf, both on and off the field:

"The biggest thing about me and DK is we learn how to feed off one another. Being able to have another player on the other side who's phenomenal, who's dominant, it's exciting to be able to watch him. I see him every day in practice, so when we go out there in the game I know that teams have to be able to figure out what to do. So we learn how to take what teams give us, we learn how to encourage one another. You never know what type of game it's going to be for one of us, so we go out there and we really have each other's back. That's what makes this bond so special."

Seahawks Donate To Youth Achievement Center

Africatown Community Land Trust, Creative Justice, and Community Passageways are working together to develop the "Youth Achievement Center". The Youth Achievement Center (YAC) gives youth a passageway to re-track their lives onto an educational path in a centralized, therapeutically supported and culturally responsive environment grounded in an internationally recognized best practices model and built upon the foundational efforts of our coalition members.

Additionally the Seahawks are donating $31K to go toward their $100K goal and we are presenting our check at their Block Party on Sunday, July 18th. Blitz and Seahawks Dancers will be in attending. We would also like to encourage fans to donate to help them continue to reach their goal. K

12s are encouraged to donate to the cause and help reach the fundraising goal. More information about the project, including where to make donations, can be made by clicking here.

Seahawks 12 Tour Travels To Alaska

The Seahawks 12 Tour returned last Friday when Blitz, the Seahawks Dancers, Blue Thunder and other notable Seahawks figures traveled through the Seattle area. The tour made stops at the Renton Pro Shop, Lake Union Park, Gas Works Park and Elysian Brewing on Capitol Hill.

Prior to its stop in Seattle last Friday, the 12 Tour detoured up north to Alaska. Blitz was joined by Seahawks Legends Walter Jones, Jim Zorn, Steven Hauschka and Mario Bailey in The Last Frontier for some special visits.

The group made stops in Alaska at the Alaska Native Hospital, Providence Children's Hospital, a Play 60 sports camp for 300 youths, a Special Olympics event and a Sea Hawker dinner for 100 guests, including a Q&A session. Following four days roaming through Alaska, the 12 Tour returned to Seattle for its events on Friday.
