Wednesday Practice Report: Six Seahawks Held Out Of Practice

The Seahawks kicked off the week of preparation for their Week 9 game against the Chargers with six players sitting out practice.

The Seahawks came out of their win in Detroit relatively healthy, but that doesn't mean some players aren't still dealing with various bumps and bruises and other injuries, and as a result, six players were sidelined for Wednesday's practice as Seattle began preparation for its Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that his team was "in pretty good shape," noting that three players who returned from injuries to play in last week's game, linebacker K.J. Wright, tight end Ed Dickson and defensive end Dion Jordan, "all came back pretty good."

Of that group, Wright and Jordan were given the day off Wednesday, while Dickson didn't even show up on the practice report, meaning his injury is no longer considered an issue. Also sitting out were two players who missed last week's game due to injury, cornerback Neiko Thorpe, who injured his groin in practice last week, and guard Jordan Simmons, who has a calf injury.

Safety Bradley McDougald (knee) guard D.J. Fluker (foot) were the other two players held out of Wednesday's practice.

Defensive end Rasheem Green, who has missed four games with an ankle injury, was a full participant, another indicator that he should available this week.

"He should be fine," Carroll said of Green on Monday. "He was all but ready to go, we just wanted to wait one more game as we got to the end of the week. Dion (Jordan) was really healthy and looking good, so we went that way. So, he'll be back battling again to play this week."
