Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, coming off a very accomplished season, is still striving to grow and learn as a player.

Over the past six months, Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has racked up titles, accolades and trophies, adding to what was already, individually, a very successful 2025 campaign for the receiver. Super Bowl LX Champion, 2025 AP Offensive Player of the Year, the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history, and as of today, one of "TIME" magazine's 2026 100 Most Influential People In Sports, are all different ways you could address Smith-Njigba.

He's had time to take in all of his prior accolades, but Tuesday's most recent recognition by "TIME" magazine will take some time for the receiver to fully digest.

"Still got to think about it and grasp it, but it's an honor I believe," Smith-Njigba said. "If I'm going to be an influencer I want to influence in the right way, and that's with my faith and how I treat people, being in the building, outside the building, the community. So, it was awesome to see that today."

While reflecting on what the year, and everything that came with it, has meant to him, Smith-Njigba said, "First and foremost, it's a blessing. This year has been great. It's brought me a lot of great things, and things to learn and overcome and trophies and parades and stuff like that. So, it's a blessing. It's been an amazing year. We're six months into the year, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it."

For a player that has achieved so much in just a season, Smith-Njigba said the process of what it took to achieve all that he did is what keeps him striving towards the next goal.

"What I said last year, process over results, that's something that we live by and something that I want to perfect and grow as a player and as a person," he said. "Like I say each year, the offseason is great to just, for me, learn, grow as a person and a player. There is a lot of work to be done, so just understanding that and reaching for that goal is something that keeps me on track and motivated."

How exactly does Smith-Njigba grow from last season?

"It's always attacking, getting bigger, faster, stronger. That second year of growth with Sam and the team and playing off 'Shid (Rashid Shaheed) and Coop (Cooper Kupp), just evolving in that way."

And with head coach Mike Macdonald's "run it forward" slogan in place, Smith-Njigba's goal of getting "bigger, faster, stronger" aligns perfectly.

"It's an awesome mindset," Smith-Njigba said. "Coach (Mike) Macdonald brought it to the team and that's what we're rolling with. That's who we are and what we're standing on. I think it's just an awesome mindset to have. These banners, it's great to see our names and see what we've done here in the last year; we want to move it forward, build, and evolve with this new team and new circumstances that we're looking forward to."

During a time when he's done a lot for himself on the football field, he's also focused on how he can contribute off the field and in his community. Last week, The Smith-Njigba Foundation hosted an to celebrate the Head Start graduates of The Denise Louie Education Center.

"It's very important. As my foundation grows and [I find] ways I can help the community and push great things and be involved in great things and help out, serve the people. So my foundation, we connected with Head Start, an organization, a program that was involved in as a young kid. Just to have that full circle moment and to give back and see those kids and have fun and get them kind of what they need and see their faces was awesome last weekend."

Smith-Njigba’s foundation was launched in 2025 "to uplift, inspire, and help others transform the course of their lives."
